    1. ED CLEARSAILING  11/11/2008 04:32 PM Report

PRESIDENT ELECT (P.E.) Obama was trained in Saul D. Alinsky's methodologies and shows clearly that he has embraced many of the ideologies of Alinsky. Alinsky's Rules for Radicals (RFR) has been the operating manual for his campaign for CHANGE. On pages 36 to 44 he goes into great detail about how to get and how to keep power by the use of force.

Has President Elect Obama mutated into something not envisioned by Alinsky? On page 61 of RFR Alinsky talks about ego, ""The ego of the organizer is stronger and more monumental than the ego of the leader. The leader is driven by the desire for power, while the organizer is driven by the desire to create. The organizer is in a true sense reaching for the highest level for which man can reach - to create, to be a "great creator," to play God.""

My question is then, "Is President Elect Obama assuming the Office of President of the United States of America," as our leader or as an ORGANIZER who wants to change the world. Is he simply going to use his power to control us completely in order to spread our wealth to the poor of the world? Keep in mind the poorest American living in poverty is still better of than the mainstream of the people in Darfur. I know this paints a bleak picture, but we had better wake up soon and be alert to the possibilities

Do yourself a favor and study Rules For Radicals.

      hey dumbass: (Bernie Dziedzic)

a personality disorder is a personality disorder. Antisocial personality is antisocial personality. I was comparing their psyche's, not the acts they have committed. The way those men *think* about the rights of others is the same. Look in your DSM and you'll see that is one of the hallmarks...

Comparing Dick Cheney and Stalin is absurd.

The Terror and mass murder that Stalin perpetrated upon his OWN populace in order to secure control of the Soviet Union is not even in the same sphere of ANYTHING Dick Cheney has ever done.

"Blood for Oil?" Spare me your one-dimensional-talking-point-attack.

Read a bit about the purges before you throw out something you obviously know nothing about. Keep in mind when you read them that they were prepetrated not on foreign enemies or agents, but people working in their own country to advance Socialism. Unfortunately for them, they did not have the same "vision" as Stalin, and thus had to be purged--along with their wives and families.

Try THE WHISPERERS and/or A PEOPLE'S TRAGEDY by Orlando Figes.

Do that. Then come at me with your 2nd grade analysis of Dick Cheney.

Now who is the enlightened one?

To William, I really hate to respond to such a vacuous diatribe, but its underlying venom and ignorance require such. Your choice of the adjective condemned belies your sterling opinion of my and my brethren's culture, one you know nothing of and can therefore only offer your prejudices and bigotry as proof. Thinking something is true does not on its own merit make it so. Please grow up and gain some real insights from living life with your heart, as well as your eyes and ears open.

    6. William  11/10/2008 11:06 AM Report

Lance: Truth is, I don't need to know you to defend your right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. And, no, I've no real interest in climbing into the pit of the culture to which you have, in large measure, condemned yourself. It would be an education in falsehood: constructing, then believing in the reality of differences that need not make a difference. You may be unaware, but it is still true, that the high horse you're trying to ride doesn't exist. I wish you out of your painful pit.

      Re sid's comment:

Shame on American voters for being fooled by this man...If these reporters had been their jobs.. we might have learned more about the real Obama. The press did nothing. We learned nothing about this man. We learn more about Joe the plumber in a couple days than we did about Obama during the entire election campaign. I guess the press was manipulated as well. So Sad!!!

      -----------------------------------------------

The only people that were "fooled" were those who didn't do their own research and instead relied too heavily on mainstream media outlets and campaign rhetoric. I have supported Obama since he announced his candidacy over 2 years ago and know more about him now than any other candidate that has been elected as our president. To insinuate that American voters were fooled only projects on others your own failure to capture the facts. If you believe the myths that have been perpetuated about Obama without attempting to debunk them, than shame on you for your own sense of foolishness.

Scaramouche : your friend is right re: charisma, etc....however, FDR had charisma. Lincoln did. RFK, JFK, Reagan....they all had the same power to persuade and engage people....

psychopath is also not a psych term. The terms are narcissistic personality disorder and antisocial personality disorder. Google them as well as DSM-IV and you'll find he doesn't meet those criteria at all.

you people need to shine up your tinfoil hats...

    10. Phil  11/10/2008 12:52 AM Report

After Obama guts the defense/intelligence budget, I wonder if all the Manhattan media liberals will still be as proud of their man after a mushroom cloud rises over their fair city? I'll be crying from a distance.

    11. Scaramouche  11/09/2008 11:09 PM Report

This adds further weight to what many have been thinking for several months; Obama is a full blown narcissist. My friend disagrees with that assertion and insists that it is more serious and that he is most likely a psychopath. She has a PhD in Psychology. Charm and charisma are primary characteristics of the narcissist and the psychopath.

For the sake of the country and the world, we both hope that we are wrong.

      Senator Stealth

How to advance radical causes when no one’s looking.

By Stanley Kurtz (Find this at National Review Online - google it

AUTHOR'S NOTE: When I wrote “Senator Stealth,” just over two months ago, it still seemed realistic to expect that its revelations might stimulate press follow-up. After all, the Wright affair had occasioned significant media interest. Since “Senator Stealth” established that Barack Obama had intimate and long-standing ties to yet another organization (Gamaliel Foundation) with Wright-like anti-American views, the piece’s news value seemed obvious. The Wright affair was no fluke, but part of a systematic pattern. Unfortunately, as Obama moved closer to nominee status, the press circled the wagons and began its own systematic pattern of refusing to question or report on his past.

    15. kiva  11/09/2008 10:08 PM Report

ok, people...calm the heck down. As an obama supporter, I call on all other supporters to now criticize everything he does. It is our duty to question authority. Do NOT drink the kool-aid.

Also, a lot is being made of the 'creepy' comment. First, Meachum disagreed with it. Also, throughout the interview, they reference obama's self-awareness regarding the 'character' that has been created. They give examples - here and elsewhere - of obama's ability to self-criticize and know his limitations. The comparisons to stalin, saddam, castro, etc. are absurd. Those people were psychopaths and would kill anybody who disagreed with them. They thought they *were* the character they created. To them, there was no difference.

That fact that obama can see he difference means, to me, that he just *really* understands the concept of political narrative.

Also, all of you questioning obama, where were you when Bush was sending kids off to die in wars based on manipulated intelligence / dick cheney? You want somebody more like stalin? look at cheney, people...

And yes, the media did its job...kissing booty! It's a business, not a public service so they're only looking out for their own pockets....just like the politicans.

And if Michelle Obama doesn't like her country...then leave!!! Hail Hussain!

To Jen's comment, I just want to say actions speak louder than words and most of Obama's adult life, including this election, can not be drowned out by any book he has written. It's time for you to let the dust settle and look at what's going on in real time. It may not be what you thought. Knowledge is impowering, but books are only as good as those who wright them.

    27. Patti  11/08/2008 10:44 PM Report

It has been recommended on this site for all to read Obama's books. So after you've read Dreams of my Father (his father who abandoned him) where he talks about his mentor "Frank" (Marshall Davis) in Hawaii, a Communist poet and how he chose his "friends carefully", including Marxist professors go read The Audacity of Hope dedicated to his exposed Racist pastor of 20 years. Then ask yourslf. "Where is the book that honors his white mother and grandparents who raised him and loved him?" While you're at it, ask yourself, "Why does this man seem to be aligned with so many "ists"?" After that, go find a copy of Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals which Obama has admitted to reading(Michele even used a phrase from this book in her DNC speech.) Alinsky, an Atheist and a Marxist. This book is dedicated to Lucifer. Alinsky's son has written "I am proud to see that my father's model for organizing is being applied successfully beyond local community organizing to affect the Democratic campaign in 2008." After you've finished that book, go and pray - alot - for the next 4 years . . .

If the names of these so called McCain insiders are never going to be revealed, how do we know this report is even true and not just another factless smear that librals are so good at propagating. These guys need to step out of the twilight zone and come back into the real world. They just might find that Obama is a lot more creepy than the "creature" he's projected.

wow, this conversation really hit the raw nerves of some non obama supporters. I do not share these negative views of the president elect but can sympathize with the fear people feel of the unknown. Just remember that education is power. Take some time to read the two books by President Elect Obama and watch the archive videos on this web site. Try to keep an open and positive mind, its the only way to get things done in America.

    33. Elle  11/08/2008 07:01 PM Report

No, Sue. God help what is left of real America and true Americans! Obama is a manipulative, power-hungry, egotistical fake. We are not yet even sure if he is an American. He wishes to control. To control everything and everybody. Those of us who have absolutely zero trust in this "guy" will kick and fight everything he has to do with OUR country. Count on it!

    34. Jack Rabbit  11/08/2008 04:31 PM Report

This is what will most assuredly occur. The recession, as painful and severe and as prolonged as it will be, will "cycle out" by the 2011 as the credit and lending liquidity increases. The unemployment figures will steadily if gradually decline. This will result in the re-election of Obama. His agenda for the 2nd term will be some sort of major reform to Health care, making health insurance the landmark of his administration and his legacy.

    35. Preston  11/08/2008 04:01 PM Report

Are you trying to say dear sir, that Democrats had a hand in causing the recent, unprecedented economic crisis?!... I do believe my world has been turned upside down, for I feel faint.---------- Mr. Rose how can you just sit idley by and let such rogue, uncoof, hateful and contemptible comments be espoused upon our po black Prezzeedent.------------ Yazzum Boss! I'm comin!

    36. Vlad The Bad  11/08/2008 12:07 PM Report

It's hysterical to read the comments of Obama apologists. Obama's "creepy cult of personality" is very Stalinesque. Let's see, he fubded (self-identified Marxist) William Ayers & Michael Klonsky's (Maoist, founder - October League, Communist Party "Lenninist/Stalinst") "progressive" education projects. Research Madeine Talbott (another Barack "associate") & her Chicago ACORN stormtroopers who is on record threatening to "drag banks kicking & screaming" into making mortgages available to "her" (unqualified, undocumented...)"people". Who is former SDS security officer Marilyn Katz...and why is she bundling for Obama? The rabid Rev. Wright preaches hate and intolerance in a religion (Black Liberation Theology) steeped in Marxism.

Raum Emanuel - a "creepy" choice considering he greedily "profited" while he was at Freddie Mac. The diminutive & vile "Raumbo" was the top House recipient in the 2008 election cycle of contributions from "greedy" hedge funds, "greedy" private equity firms and the "greedy" larger securities/investment industry...uh, uhm, duh, er...what kind of...eh, uhm, mmm...change is that?

Perhaps you overooked the Charlie Rose/Tom Brockaw interview? Tom Brockaw admitted thatwe really don't know Barack Obama, his worldview etc. That's creepy...and irresponsible...and unpatriotic to foist an unknown, inexperienced & questionable candidate on America...one with multiple alliances and collaborations with anti-American "progressive" activists.

    37. Sue  11/08/2008 11:15 AM Report

I wrote comments before but don't think they went through so will write and try again. Meecham and Thomas are not giving Obama a honeymoon, let the picking and carping begin! What was wrong with him bringing his family on stage after the speech, he is very, very far from creepy, of course he is aware of the effect his speeches have on people, how could he not? And thanks so much for giving Rush Limbaugh his talking points for the rest of the week, naturally he took everyting and put it in his own context!! He (and YOu also) have already started on the poor man. Limbaugh's listeners still believe that the reason they lost was McCain was not far-right enough!! Thanks again for not even giving Obama one day before providing the poisenous fodder!! God help him (Oabama), he is going to need it!!

    38. Ton  11/08/2008 10:02 AM Report

I heard about this interview and had to watch it for myself. I am stunned by the ignorance of people who want to call themselves reporters. It is frustrating to watch almost 2 years of not knowing who this guy is, letting him get away with anything , refusing to ask him tough questions, and basically watching the press go nuts on Sarah Palin. I agree that the fact that they are still gossiping about her is outrageous. ANd everything they talked about with her should have been talked about Obama- he was running for the president of the United States. To say he is creepy and manipulative now? It has been my feeling all along. The whole dialogue about his speech and him watching us watching him - I am so sick right now. There have been other leaders in the past like him and they were not Ronald Reagan or JFK. The fact that these men from Newsweek, an ardent supporter of Obama, can't really tell you who he is but yet they still want to lavish him with all sorts of praise of what they think he might be because they have no clue. The only thing I have to say is WOW- this country has gone nuts. It is impossible to say what a president will do , what challenges he will face, and how he will respond. I think for the most part with past presidents you had an idea of their character and where they were coming from - with Obama you just have, like his campaign, hope , that he is not a nut. I also loved their discussion of how he transformed himself into what he thought we would like him to be. I don't know about anyone else but I want someone who generally cares about this country and it's people and is here to fight for us. I don't want an egomaniac who is trying to fool me into thinking he is something that he is not. I will tell you when he decided to run for president, it is common knowledge- it was when he was in the state senate. His aides have already disclosed this information- maybe I should be a reporter.

Kind of reminds me of Bubba. ------------ Now, what inquiring minds want to know, is he going to take the high road or the low road? What's it gonna be?... The press has a way of creating their own job security by creating a real life soap opera; sells more soap. Or as Brett Farve says, "sensitive teeth".

    40. micaro9  11/08/2008 05:47 AM Report

Maybe I'm watched a different video but Evan didn't call Obama himself creepy,

he said there was a slightly creepy cult personality to this whole thing which he went on to explain meant he thought Obama was very self-contained and manipulative.

I don't see what Limbaugh was so elated about. The comments were from one reporter to which his editor disagreed and I don't find them particularly negative. I think to be the president you have to have a bit or alot of ego, and narcissism to think you can help or lead a country and essentially the entire world and to truly believe you can make a difference, that takes a very strong-willed, determined egotistical person

I definitely think Obama carefully constructed his image and controlled what is known about him to a certain extent.

I don't find that any different than John Kennedy .

I think people need to calm down. We gave Bush a chance in fact the country gave him 8 years, why is it so difficult to just give Obama a chance?

    41. Kathleen Pardue  11/08/2008 05:44 AM Report

Obama is not creepy. Evan Thomas on the other hand, yeah....li'l bit. Definitely a bit on the creepy side.

"Obama was attending Harvard and discovering that he was a black man." --Evan Thomas (Interview with Charlie Rose.)Oh, and writer of big, important books.

I'm sure President elect Obama discovered he was a black man long before he attended Harvard.

Avoid all the psychobabble, Charlie. Stick with the real issues.

Why would they continue to gossip about Sarah Palin. I thought news people only told established facts.

Obama has been staged and untouchable by the press. We have cowards in the press and that is why they failed to dig into who he is.

    43. Katherine  11/08/2008 02:40 AM Report

Other posters have used the same words to describe Obama that I've thought of since the first time I heard him speak: narcissistic, self-absorbed, manipulative, controlling, and creepy. Since then, I've come to see him as basically being a liar, and the creepy thing is this-- I think he believes his own lies, fabrications, and exaggerations. He's comfortable in his own skin though. He's comfortable in his lies, and he probably knows that he executes his lie-pocked explanations flawlessly and with enough conviction to fool everybody. To which I'd say, "You can fool some of the people all the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time."

Is Mr Obama able to keep things that close to the vest, and not slip at least once that would reveal to the world who he really is? That would make Mr Obama truly a Superhuman control freak. Quiet frankly the odds of someone being able to maintain that level is impossible to achieve. Something would give one away.

      ..................................................................................................... ....................................................................

Odds on are that Mr Obama himself doesn't even know who he is, all he deals with are current circumstances and what he can discern around the next bend. That in essence he is a blank page waiting for events to fill the page. That he keeps nothing behind the vest because their is nothing there. Mr Obama is truly amorphous???
