More time for Nate!! A true professional practioner!

I agree that Nate deserved more time and that a longer segment with him would have made for a more interesting show. Hopefully next time.

Nate deserved more time than that. Particularly when blowhards like Chuck Schumer and David Brooks are on. You'd do well to grant a full interview with him in the near future, Mr. Rose.

Charlie Rose doesn't seem to get it when it comes to distributing interviews... There's no good reason for him to avoid going the podcast route. Frustrating!

Was this the same Nate Silver I saw on The Colbert Report? Great website fivethirtyeight.com (obviously!) but he seemed very stiff in this remote with Charlie.

Nate's going after that "ironic hipster" look, which amongst technocrats, is all the rage. Doesn't come off so well on television, especially late night PBS, which about as "hipster" as those 60's revival concerts they broadcast during sweeps. :)

I am glad others felt (like me) that Nate Silver was worthy of more time, and would have been much more interesting than Chuck Schumer.

I'd like a show with Nate Silver, Ken Burns and Doris Kearns discussing baseball.

Nate, You've got a great website and you do marvelous work. That noted, you look like a bigger idiot than Charlie Schumer and Davey Brooks in that monkey suit. Try an open collar and relax.

    8. Lee  11/03/2008 05:33 PM Report

Wow... only a five-minute segment with Silver, and about two minutes of it were taken up by clips of Obama and McCain out on the stump? Huh>

Charlie, charlie, charlie... major screw-up there. Silver's a pretty interesting guy with a lot of good info, you should've spoken with him for 30 minutes, not three.

    9. John Glasscock  11/03/2008 02:42 PM Report

Charlie should have spent a whole hour with Nate and he might have learned something.

    10. Steven  11/02/2008 09:35 PM Report

Silver is a great guest - I was surprised to see such an abbreviated interview though.

    11. Snazel  11/01/2008 10:07 PM Report

A little more on Nate Silver and a lot less on Schumer (what a blowhard) would have been nice.

No comment...the demographics are not in yet!
