I thought she said she was not on Obama's team. Should she speak for him if she is not on his team?
Sarah is no Barack Obama she is really more like George Bush.
All the people that are so worried about how much money Obama may spend give no thought to how George Bush has spent with no benefit for Americans. These people seem to hate the thought of a government for the people and to have some of that money spent to improve lives of all Americans, I just don't understand. I am sure barrels of money have been stashed to benefit those who participated in the military industrial complex of Iraq. Ten billion dollars a month while the Iraqis have no running water, sewer, electricity, and towns full of rubble and hundreds of thousand grave sites. I wonder where the money is going.
If Barack looks imperious George Bush looks like Howdy Doody yep Howdy Doody is in his genes.
RE Mant 10/08/2008 12:43 AM Report
For myself, I trust Obama less and less. He seems more imperious than ever, and I fear it is in his genes, like combativeness is in McCain's. His strategy seems to be the same as FDR's, to never talk about his program, and that surely cannot do anything to restore "confidence." The remarkable thing about Sarah, if she will allow me, is that ppl are attracted to her, just the way that they are to Barrack, and if you don't like the one, you can't like the other.
Not Fooled 10/06/2008 09:06 PM Report
You can ask all the questions you want, but eventually you'll need to make a decision. There are only 2 choices: Obama or McBush. If I'm on the surgical table, I want the smartest person in the room holding the scalpel, and that is NOT John McCain (who along with Bush lost the previous patient - the USA!), and CERTAINLY NOT Palin, the cute baby cub that everyone so dearly wants to protect from the real world.

Donna, Donna, Donna. You were asked the most important question by anyone, what does Obama mean by "Change"? Typically she gave no specifics..something about change from the bottom up, whatever that means? Can anyone figure it out, I sure can't? Maybe he means anarchy or revolution..I mean we do have a Constitution and the balance of power if she has forgotten (Judical, Legislative, Executive). Change comes through our votes, being informed, making decisions relevant to our personal benefit and the benefit of others. She said Obama has some of the same attributes of Bill Clinton and Al Gore, smart, articulate, knowledgeable and ability to reach out. Yeah, sure, Bill reached out all right.
Gore should have won based on Clinton's surplus budget and fight with (little, defenseless Serbia). I find it fascinating that the President of Georgia just condemned it's big mighty neighbor Russia for basically doing the same thing, fascinating). Gore was dull, boring and in fact, very hard to relate to. But I get back to the main question about change. So far I haven't heard anything that answers, not from anyone, not even Obama. Oh that David Axelrod..he's a real cutie..great at
nuance and inspirational talks. My question to Obama, if Iran nukes Israel, Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia (or invades any of the aforesaid), or Iraq (after we withdraw), and raises gas to 10.00/gallon, will you advocate something other than talk and engagement? Or, Mr. Obama, how do you plan on paying for those 47 million residents (not all legal) without health insurance..whose taxes will you raise? Do you assume another governmental agency to handle the kiddie claims for measles and mumps injections and treatment for alcoholism?
Considering the 700 billion dollar rescue of Wall Streets and 80 billion for FM and FM which were pressured to give loans to people who on paper (if there was paper) couldn't afford them, what part of the budget are you planning to cut? Are you inclined to loan California 7 billion now, per the govs request? Are you planning to beef up the IRS to collect some of the 300b that goes uncollected each year. Will you simplify the IRCode? Hows about taxing corporate profits still overseas..so that we can then pay higher prices for their products (assuming they are still around in the global economy). Oh that David Axelrod is cute, isn't he. You can fool all the people..as the saying goes.

Since I am from Brazil a country where we have real democracy and all candidates have a chance of becoming Brazilian president.
On the other hand the United States has a political system that it is hard to describe and I am not sure what kind of political system we have in the United States.
I know it is not a democracy otherwise the mainstream media and the current presidential debates would include Ralph Nader if anything because he is the best qualified of the candidates for president in 2008.
I understand that today the US economy is in free fall, the United States is losing its place as the leading economy in the world and Americans accept third rate candidates to be their leader. In my opinion, the nominees of the Democratic and Republican Party are mediocre, and at best second-rate candidates. If Americans were serious about wanting real change, and if they want a candidate with substance, smart, honest, with high integrity, then Ralph Nader was supposed to be away ahead of the pack and he would be elected US president in November 2008.
Ralph Nader is the real deal – the other candidates are at best second tier.

SouthAmerica: Last Thursday Charlie Rose had a number of pundits on his television show discussing the latest developments on the 2008 Presidential Election.
One of the pundits was Jonathan Alter and he said that one of the priorities for the new president when he takes office in January 2009 should be to rebuild the United States prestige and clout around the world for the United States to be able to operate in the new global economy in the coming years.
Talking about rebuilding the United States perceived image around the world then we should keep the following in mind:
John McCain is gaining momentum and he is going to win the election in November 2008.
Here is further evidence to back up the fact that Barack Obama is going to lose the presidential election in November 2008.
At the end of the day a lot of things regarding the United States it is about image and many people are having second thoughts about having a black president here in the United States at this time since…
