Serena Williams is one of my heroes, even though I'm not an athlete. If I focused on my goals as well as she has focused on hers, I would have reached them. I've watched this interview twice, and I take courage from her courage, her insights, and her tenacity.

By the way, everyone seem to focus on parts of the interview where "intimidation" is mentioned. Well, sport is psychology, the contender has to have the confidence plus the ability to project that confidence on the opponent, if that is termed intimidation, so be it! Its necessary for the sportsmanship. After all sport means reflex, agility, flow, movement and the readiness to use them all at the the same time, which requires the physical proportionality to act, which require the training of the muscle to allow it do what that competitor does best.

Ms. Serena Williams along with her sister Venus are marvelous sport personalities that have enriched the lives of many with their talent and skill in the court. It is so great to have two sisters challenge each other for millions to watch and satisfy their sports quench and at the end of the day both girls go to the same home to discuss and share other parts of living and what life has to offer. I have seen many interviews of the two sisters and in every interview they appear very relaxed and shy to the point that they do not dangle their status on the face. They are just humble and typically girlish, which is a quality not too many sports personalities have. By the way as these females grow from adolescent girls to womanhood, they both look better and better; you nooooow waht I mean! Mr.Rose thank you for bringing another marvelous program, and making it possible for us the audience to watch it anytime we desire to.

I think it is her physic. Her body is able to do what she wants. She had to train and practice hard but some do so too but the body can not take it.Her body is different than a lot of others. She was born with the right genes.
I now she has a great character and her body is not everything she has.
She is very lucky to be borned like that.
She is a great human beeing and I am expecting a lot of other great things after her sport career in a few years.
Good luck to her.

I don't think Serena's main focus is intimidation. I feel that her love for the game is quite evident. I have much respect for Serena. No one ever sees the hard work that she puts in; many only choose to see when she steps out on the town or make a cameo appearance in a TV show. But, her tenacity and hard work is definitely being manifested. I only wish her the best; and also that she continues to have a balanced life--because after Tennis is over, then what? She is a very mature and grounded young woman. Congratulations Ms. Serena Williams for your hard work and dedication to the game.

serena definitely has an intimidation factor, but it's not present throughout every match. i think that can help to carry her if her tennis isn't up to its best, but when she is playing her game and going for her shots, then she doesn't need an intimidation factor. it's nice to have, but her tennis is the bread and butter.
this was a really nice, introspective interview. thanks. love serena.

Learned a wee more respect for Serena's achievements
.
But I cannot buy into her game of intimidation/domination. When I was at my peak in tennis [my second favorite sport\, my nature was/is to concentrate on the game - intimidation somehow never entered my mind - the love of the game was my predominance.
