I meant, I didnt know about him as an individual - I of course knew of him from Led Z. That is very different.

Robert Plant is and always will be the sexiest man alive! I would absolutely give my right arm to meet this man and to see him perform in person! I've been a fan since the early '70's and he's still the Golden God and sexiest man alive. He definitely grinds my gears even to this day!!

Mr. Rose: Thank you so much for interviewing Robert Plant. This is one gracious and kind human being. I love his willingness to be human and earthy - not pompous and pretentious. Thanks, Mr. Plant for letting your light shine.

I made a spelling mistake previously. I was typing too fast. It was Kidderminster. Sorry.

One great human that fella. I met him briefly back in the early nineties when he showed up at Kinderminster Harriers Football club to celebrate their getting to the third round of the FA cup. This was a small semi professional team enjoying a brief spell in the big leagues. He came in support unannounced.
I've been a huge fan all my life and even though I became a photojournalist he inspired me, inspires me still, creatively. Simply listening to his music frees my mind like little else can and affords me a freedom to make interesting photographs.
So his magic crosses genres. In my case it informs me visually.
I saw him on the plane from New York to Birmingham just after this interview and asked a steward to pass on a copy of the book I'd just published. I don't know if he ever did. I didn't want to interrupt him.
My wife was upset that she didn't get a glimpse of him.
I'll finish with another funny story about him that I was sent to cover. Near where he lives in rural England, west of Birmingham, he attempted to attend a local party, can't remember for whom, but he was turned away at the door by a ninety something year old bouncer because of his long hair. The elderly gent thought he was too scruffy, apparently. He had no idea who Mr. Plant was.
I'll leave it there.
