The reported development of Lithium batteries that can be recharged in less than 10 minutes and spercapacitor storage units with a 5 minute recharge time and the capacity for a car range of 200+ miles should make the Volt type Hybrid a waste of money. The quick recharge feature will allow coonvenient recharging at "gas stations" and convenience stores across the country.

I agree with Ken Dresher...legislators need to act now. Not only to limit the top speed of vehicles but to outlaw coffee shops. The over-caffinated drinker who operates a motor vehicle puts all other drivers and pedestrians at risk with their maniacal and adrenaline-pumped aggressiveness. Chinese food is bad for you too. And chewing gum, one time I got a piece stuck to the bottom of my shoe....

Let Them Eat Cake...
Out-of Touch Designers, infatuated with high speed (like 160 m.p.h.) imported sports cars,
as their dream cars prove, by their own words, and attitudes that they have no intention of providing practically designed vehicles for the American, and World driving Public.
Quite the opposite. More out-of-touch vehicles with design 1st, engineering 2nd.
>>> NEED LEGISLATORS TO REACT, and
PASS LEGISLATION MANDATING VEHICLES BE DESIGNED WITH
75 m.p.h. + 5 m.p.h. as the TOP SPEED
the Vehicles will be manufactured to reach, and NOT exceed!!!

oooing and ahhing over "sexy" cars...come on guys...can't we get a little more serious? now the primary job for designers is to make green "sexy"? que lastima...we are doomed it appears. how about less aesthetics questions and more ethics questions?

Hey TABS you're pretty funny, especially when you're not flooding my mind with facts that I can't handle.

The GM CEO interview might prove worthy. Personally think they may deserve everything the market is inflicting on them. Betting they would love to abandon their Volt and return to their high-margined SUVs at the slightest dip in pump prices. Greed > vision?

What happened to Charlie Rose? I saw the interview with the auto design people, and Mr.Rose had a black eye! I tuned in late and may have missed an explanation.

Gentleman....Can't fit can't buy.........The Ferrari 275 GTB and early Porsche 911's fit a big person just fine....One other thing it is all just another unit designed to get one from point A to point B. Some one once asked how many times aweek one drove their 275 GTB. The reply was twice aweek. The second question was how many times a week one was towed to the maintence station and the reply was twice a week.
