Scuba Steve …Nevertheless, it does not mean Lou Dobbs says the whole story. If he is fair then he will tell you the both side of the story. Please, come to California and see the situation. There are wrong and right on both sides. So if you are truly independent you will try to be fair. So do not think just because he seems to be independent then he is any better then other people. Scuba Steve, you must really know Lou to defend him. As far as US has no democracy, please travel, you will find out US is much better place than countries to live. You have much more say so in US than other countries. Democracy is not what you preach; it is what you try to do every day. But you have to start it with yourself. Just tell the both side of the story, even if some of your own followers do not want to hear it.

I liked the interview. Lou was very forthcoming, no BS. His point that people get lost with the moral issues allows "the debate" to not discuss "real issues" such as education, economics, foreign policy. It is a critical defect in the US political debate.

So if Lou is wrong or a self servering opportunist, tell me what is going on? Sure he could just sit back and either say nothing like many elites, or spread the typical corporate lies like many others, but that propoganda just does not square with the reality of the vast majority of people or the facts and numbers on the ground.
The US has no democracy. The government is owned by and takes directions from the whealthy elite. The 2 official parties are corrupt and broken. Why so many voters do not support an independent is a sad statement about the average citizen.
Many scholars have been saying exactly this for 3 decades.

Lou Dobbs is just a simple person, who got himself in opportunist position. His position on immigration and other stuff is very easy one. Joseph McCarthy was popular on his position on communism. He kept talking and making noise on every opportunity he got. You see we know what is illegal and bad. However, there is a more important issue. That is CNN and Lou Dobbs found a significant niche to get people to watch their program. Lou Dobbs makes somewhere between 6 to 7 figure money easy. All he does jump on the bandwagon. Any body disagree with him is wrong, and it is against American values. Please, next time when you watch Lou Dobbs’s Program notice they put the American flag on his behind. Every single day he is on the program he talks about the same thing from different angle, any where from jalapeno to drug cartel but always connecting to his favorite topic. Nevertheless, the main issues in America are amount of the money spent on the war and our secondary education system. But as always in human history we as a people get played in their hands.
It is not the main thing you born here or not, regardless your color is brown, white, black, red, etc…. It is so much what you do every day; you treat this land like your home. You nurture it and contribute to it. Making 6 to 7 figure money (each year) and just putting other people down and thinking that every day people owe you something is not a good indication of a great American. Just because somebody share my opinion does not making him or her great American. A hero could be someone that sacrifices herself or himself every day working hard and being honest, and at the end of the day she/he barley making it to give his/her kids a good life. Please, be careful some one is making so much of money on other people’s misery is not a hero. We knew communism is not good, but just because you go out there keep saying the same old thing every day like McCarthyism, does not mean you are any better. Just do not: cry about things, take an advantage of the situation, and get people all riled up. Bottom line is who ever you are: Joseph McCarthy or Lou Dobbs get up and try to do something good, constructive, and positive every day.

crfan, do you work for the Chamber of Commerce? Perhaps his comments have struck a nerve with you...I can think of better people to sling the insult of "charlatan and a relic".
"Lou" the "Boston Tea Party " is coming................." - I like that!

Alan Greenspan said in a speech" the immigration bill will flatten wages for U.S. college educated and skilled workers".

Dobbs is a true patriot. He has the guts to tell it like it is. "Lou" the "Boston Tea Party " is coming.................

Imho he is a charlatan and a relic. Strong discipline, stays on message but like a good p.r. man. Far too enamored of his vision of america.
I prefer not to hear the story of the struggles of America's workers from a man who lives on a gentleman's farm in NJ and has a driver to bring him into to his studio in NYC daily.
