This was a very informative segment on the whole North Korean nuclear question. Again there is an anti- Administration spin in this kind of interview, claiming that what the Bush Administration agreed to do now, it refused to do seven years ago- and that this has been costly. The Administration side is infrequently heard in discussions of this kind.

I would also like to have heard much much more about the critical North- Korean - Iranian connection. This after all is the relationship which may give Iran a true nuclear capacity- and one which wholly upsets the world- non- proliferation order.

Thursday's broadcast was no less than terrific. Can't get much better coverage of some of the most important international issues. David Sanger was at his best bringing us up to speed on the North Korean concessions, and who better than Daniel Jergin to talk for a few minutes about the evolving gas situation. Haven't we all been shaken out of our complacency these past months? And how about Peter Levene and his conversation covering all sorts of current perspectives. I haven't seen Levene before, but he makes great conversation.

Fascinating, yet disturbing, conversation. Since I have 2 local PBS stations that stagger the program here, I actually watched it twice. I wanted to die of diabetes and global warming -- not nuclear war. *darn*
