One of the first movies I remember seeing in the movie theater was "Some Like It Hot," because I thought it was so funny. I was 4 years old at the time....So I have to say THANK YOU Mr Mirisch for giving me a lifetime of quality entertainment......... With regards to Mr Jack Lemon, he was the quintessential 1960's American EVERYMAN. Mr Lemon had the perfect pitch for the anxiety, angst of his times. With regards to Mr Wilder, "WOW, what a body of work," is all you can say. None better.

Sorry for my previous comment where I spoke of Mr. Mirisch in the past tense! In my gloom over probably never getting the chance to work with him I was thinking too far into the future. People that do what they love to do will live a long and happy life, which Mr. Mirisch will no doubt do.

This is the kind of man and producer I wish there were more of in our industry. As a filmmaker, these days, it seems there are no more producers of Mr. Mirisch's ilk. Today, anybody with money calls himself a producer and has no understanding of the filmmaking process. They don't love movies, they love celebrity and power. Mr. Mirisch was a filmmaker. He made movies because he loved movies.

Mr. Mirisch is one of the finest people I have ever had the chance to work with. The film industry-- the world for that matter, is better off for Mr. Mirish havig graced us with his presence. There are few people with more integrity, more class and more love for the film business than he.
