A. Born Digitally! Adverb, ref Strunk & White if you have any doubt -may WFB, Jr rest in peace! JZ, is he really the Pres & CEO. Having viewed some really amazing interviews: Rupert; Mickey D; Eisner with Diller; Ken Auletta; Ted Turner and more, there seems to be a disconnect with the cailber of this person....tenacity, sure, chess player, fine, but visionary - I am not feeling it....time will tell

Charlie:
I wanted to take a moment, to share feedback on your very caring and informative show(s).
You are a mySpace friend - as well, and so I also wanted to share with you my intense appreciation for the level of education you are providing the general public. I am working on my own brand of the same, but completely enjoy and will spread the word about the conversations you are having with those who are "making a difference" in every aspect of our world.
If only every classroom in America had a "Charlie Rose" elective period, "what a difference" this would make on our youth today.
Thank you again, for all you do, as a positive role model for others on your broadcasts.

This was a great interview. Sometimes Charlie can be a bit fawning, but this was hard-hitting and respectful. I wish he could be this way when he interviews internet people -- the Google kids -- and entertainment people.

Zucker needed to say more about why NBC is so low in prime time ratings. Remember Brandon Tartikoff who died in the late 90's who made NBC #1? Personally aside from watching an occasional Law and Order show I cannot think of any prime time shows I watch on NBC. Jay Leno I like simply because I live here in California and don't 'get' Lettermans meanness humor. Nightline is a dud. So I watch Charlie Rose from 12-1 am and then am overjoyed to watch Tavis Smiley from 1-1:30 am. His show I would LOVE to see go an hour at least, because he's funny, smart and asks great questions and then shuts up and lets the guest answer. Thank god I have a satellite system so I can get the Discovery Channel and other literate shows.

Charlie was really on top of his game last night with the interview of Jeff Zucker. He had Zucker squirming in his chair. I am surprised Charlie didn't mention that Craig Ferguson is now getting better ratings than Conan O'Brien.

Its interesting to hear Mr Zucker speak to delivering content and the speak to the "pennies to dollars" topic.
Peronally I would love to see an intelligent converation about Net Neutrality, Digital Rights Management, and other issues related to internet content. Not only for but against.
I think many content providers are finding that their old buisness models, meaning exclusive niche, where media is concerned no longer applies or fore see it would apply in the near future. As a result they are scambling to try and stop the leaking damn.
Thanks for hte great programming.

What was that .com that Zucker was talking about, an alternative to iTunes. I wish they had showed a graphic. It sounded like 'hooloo'.
Robert Nagle 05/21/2008 12:49 AM Report
why so media moguls on this show? Which market segment is this supposed to appeal to?
RE Mant 05/21/2008 12:31 AM Report
Mr. Zucker seems to be one of those blowhards you often find running for class president or editor of the school paper. Most of the time they get into law school tho' and run for office. But he does seem to fit the mold of the old-fashioned Hollywood mogul. The Internet gives ppl the chance to develop and enjoy their own content, and accompanying relationships besides. So I think it doubtful that anyone who did not previously watch much mainstream media will do it now because of somewhat easier access, much less pay for it, tho' you may derive some benefit from forums, etc. Personally I wouldn't mind watching what everyone else watches, if it were half-way decent. I think the problem here is the same as in every other area of education or information: dilution and dissipation of intelligence. The market has brought more ppl into it, but it has done precious little to improve their level, more likely lowering it. You may be able to breathe a little life into the media by mktg to kids, but it can't last forever. Yet if you keep yourself focused on competition with other networks you may not notice. BTW, Katie is just stupid and that's her strong point. I'm a little surprised as many ppl recognize that as appear to.

Thanks for all the interviewing you do. While I've question some of the shows, overall I feel you offer information not available elsewhere. The interview with Jeff Zuker was very interesting. Thanks.

Mr. Zucker said "youtube can't offer a control environment for advertisers." what about youtube private channels such as http://youtube.com/ikea
,youtube.com/NBA, etc. It seems to me youtube is already taking some of Mr. Zucker ad business. also if you want to look at a solution how to monetize user produce content check out the following site http://www.adotube.com/ this is one of many.
Love you show,
