What gives with the three names for Mr. Sorkin? How precious - now make up your mind - and wear a flag pin yourself, while your at it! :) (See the Lou Dobbs show of June 10, 2008.

To Jay: I do think you are wrong about the "civil bigotry" of the so-called rust belt states. Only the common elitism of the elite (and media) made it as if their was something wrong for white working class people to ask themselves "what is it about 'Obama the Messiah' that I don't trust? Given his snooty comments about "bitter" workers "clinging to religion and the like" and his likely support of the very-problematic affirmative action programs, there is plenty of cause for their suspicion -and this need not be dismissed as "bigotry." In fact, it's classism that too often is the problem in this country. Luckily, Sen. Obama does have much more to offer than the GOP as far working class issues.

Love the format for your show and want to meet you..

Know you are very busy but hope you might meet with me for 15 minutes.

I am a flight attendant with American Airlines and travel extensively, obviously.

Am in the process of putting together a t.v. show in Texas - and eager to get your input and advice.

My cell is 972-814-8986 and email is sweetouch01@hotmail.com

Thanks for all that you do.

      Sincerely,

      Rebecca Stringer

Should Arrington really be a guest on the show?? What happened to journalistic integrity?

"...We pointed out how odd it seemed that the Washington Post, one of the nation's most trusted and revered newspapers, would run stories written by an ex-lawyer who admits he may advise or invest in companies that are covered on his site..."

Civil bigotry of the worst sort is alive and well in the rust belt states. Having lived in PA, it was obivous among blue collar and some white collar men that an election between a white male vs. a white male generates the "Who do I like better?" A white woman against a black man with the same group, they will go with the lesser of two horrible evils. They vote for the woman. This is a very sad commentary and I would prefer to be wrong about this.

Thank you SeattleKnows, you hit it on the head. All the analysts saw no other alternative to this deal and were convinced that it would get done. Everyone is guessing, but nobody knows. I held out hope that Jerry would stick to his guns and fight. It was nice to see someone give a damn about his company.

I'm interested to know why no one is talking about Yahoo's plans and the details about their rumored relationships that are being considered as factors in these conversations. Fact is, I have an opinion about all of this too, but this looks like people speculating about things they really know very little about. To fully understand and predict what will happen next are facts that very FEW people are privileged to know, understand or have the right to make a comment about. Maybe we should ask Andrew and Michael who will win the Democratic presidential contender bid??

Yahoo has given its shareholders 10 days to protest: http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/a742f624-1b97-11dd-9e58-0000779fd2ac.html

Good points from both Arrington and Sorkin. I believe Microsoft is waiting in the wings for a deal at the end of this week.
