This, in response to Drake T.'s comments: Two months ago, I became an Avon Representative to accommodate my co-workers at a large law firm in Montreal. To my surprise, I found a company like no others! Avon provides their representatives with all the tools, opportunities and support to achieve success, and this for a mere investment of $20! I am so impressed that my enthusiasm is sky-high. I sold for $1,000 the first month! Mrs. Jung is helping the "everyday women" to earn their living in a fun and interesting way. Plus Avon's products are of high quality and very affordable. That's ALL very impressive.

And to Mr. St.Clair: Mrs. Jung might be "hot", but you should review your grammar...

Really inspiring woman, she looks quite strong & independent. Sure, managing global monster like Avon requires really strong character...

    3. Drake T.  03/20/2008 08:37 AM Report

For a female leader being talked about so much recently, she really does not have a hint of a teaching point of view. Very unimpressed. Sounds as if she is there because she is female and asian.

While I admire the woman, and how far she has come with a company that is world wide, it does concern me that the whole cosmetic industry is world wide and is selling the idea that women need artificial faces, unlike men who are allowed to be natural. Did find her comments on how diverse make up and women worldwide is.

    5. Carol J  03/14/2008 07:18 PM Report

Charlie, this was an excellent hour of conversation. Andrea Jung portion was my favorite segment for the evening. Charlie, you must be curious about everything known to man. The diversity of your guests shows you are not locked in a tunnel. Take care.

Selling make-up will certainly be a big improvement to women worldwide. I always thought these cos were basically Ponzi schemes. Not much utility in interviewing CEOs either, esp not when they are also female crusaders.
