. No, not me. 'The President is responsible for the economic problems'. Now let me tell you how to spend the 63 billion dollars..How Nancy Pelosi speaks like a woman.
It makes me cringed..what an evil, parallell universe with this kind of politicians.
They just think Americans have no eyes or ears.
Those reps from sunny California are just too sickly SWEET.
Some one said some people do not deserve this country:
Correct! i read those bloggers at Marketwatch comments site. It is run by the Wall Street Journal. Its 'community' blog hosted by someone with a very middle-east name, and then full of aliens who are traders apparently, many can't even write a language properly but they're fightsy and frightening. they talk so freely under the sun here in USA but full of verbal attacks and mean streaks, all the time wishing the US government to go down the drain !!!
Credibility problem? All the banks run, the government switches. Earlier generations trusted each other so well because those were good citizens. It must be generation decline. Look at peoples around us. It's not good enough that Obama looking cool and calm. It's those around us being shitty and outrageous. Recently he said to his crowds: 'don't be cocky'! Telling enough. Cocky is tone-down and understatement.
For Obama and some democrats spread more bad influcences and stronger messages than the US government. If you let those bloggers running subversive campaigns and bringing global attack upon the US government, it's NO NO.
Who would need other countries to run an American presidential campaign? OBAMA is doing it. American people fall prey to all these attacks from within.
The rich Jewish America propping a presidential campaign with OBAMA, an obscure Black guy.
No wonder the mainstream media are of the same voice because their owners are rich Jews. Yet they still blame the Nazis. See the outcome now, even Adolf Hitler would go crazy too here in America !! however, inter-racial marriages will make us a little jewish or black someday.
For now and really, these people trash others with their past hurts, and yet they suppress the good ones with their victim concepts and claims. They can also blank out your memories too when they choose to and when they insist on their talks. Do you wonder why so many Alhzimers here in America???? Uh oh, I now understand what the Liberals stand for !!!

Charlie:"How did it come about?"
Nancy Pelosi(smiling):"Good question" All i know Charlie is, myself,Barney Frank, and a few others were in a causcus room counting money givin to us from Fannie May and Mac. While talking on the phones, putting presure on banks and lenders to give mortages to low income people that sit on there fat asses all day eating doughnuts and not looking for work. Because they have a RIGHT to homeownership!
Then all of a sudden we hear the economy is in trouble!(still smiling)

Yes, a top woman woman selling a plan to spend 63 billion dollars on 'people'. Bloated with smiles. Poor Bush. how miserable je always seems. it's called Pelosi Power. Butt, if you did not do it in the past 8 years, why do we trust you?
1) she ssid: 'don't know' to every question, how this crisis come about?
2) full of cliche, and jargon, 'heart attack, and cancer' too. lots of specifics which are called laundry list.
3) no memory of what happened. no answer on 'crisis'. she's still all smiling. that's what you called 'sophisticated lady' ?? hoohoohorrid Dem! always an upper hand in selling.
Some americans luv sweet talk..here 63 billions for the people..for the people..for you, for you. for the future. Isn't too little, too late?
Republicans are too easy prey. A smily Pelosi off the hook !!
Is she off the loop? What a talkie, talkie, keeps brushing her hair..like that woman holding a phone on chatline when she smiles.
Mrs Pelosi, wipe off your smiles in time of this humongous crisis? ..Behaviors very unbecoming...only Democrats call you 'a sophisticated lady'..selling snake oil, yes!!

In the first half of the interview with Speaker Pelosi, she was the usual politician defending her turf and in the second half sining the laurels of Senator Obama. Right now she is the leader of the Democratic party with majority in the House. But it has been a Congress with 15% of public confidence and towing the Bush line. I too question as to why the Office of Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction abolished, when it is the US TAXPAYERS money that this Congress is using to pay off the Sunnis build walls of separating the Sunni and Shia religious factions and millions of US citizens are losing their jobs and homes. The $10 billion a month is the DOD cost of the war, but what about other billions that CIA, the State department, US Aid Agency and a whole slew of other Agencies under the Bush Executive privilege are pouring into to Iraq, plus all the other maintenance in countries adjoining Iraq. Ms. Pelosi's interview was informative but nothing the public does not already know.

How did it come about? Good question. Nancy Pelosi was full of words jammed in the mouth and stuttering. No wonder we hear persistently how Democrats forever attacking Repulbican candidates by saying 'they don't address your question."
here this robotic smiley, powerful woman started with tons of words how 63 billions should be spent on healthcare, seniors and on spending on all people.
well said but teflon talks, wonder what this woman was doing at the American Congress. Nothing, assigning blames, proposing plans for peoples. What a brazen talk. She has no responsibility. all quilts on the lame duck US president, she said the president did not pass it. The President of US is responsible for the American economy.
This is a shining example, the top woman in the American government talked her past 8 years like this, apparently.
No clues, absolutely no clues from Nancy Pelosi how did this economic crisis come about.
'It's just not right, it's just not right.!!!' to coin Nancy's phrase. 'I don't know, I can never answer for the Republicans'. What a cheater!!! She's the top government official. She said she didn't know. What sort of US government and administration!!!!
McCain said Obama does not know. Indeed, if Pelosi does not know, how would Obama know anything!!
These Democrats brazenly said: 'don't know' !!!
She's all smiles, she's shakey, she's nervous. No clues, absolutely no clues !!! Let Obama spend the money, she said.
Pelosi easily brushed off the question: how did this come about?

I've been watching your show again since the last election in 2004, yet more for your input on the total collapse of wall street and bank failures....the best was the former CEO of AIG who was at Omaha beach on D-Day, a good American who handed the ball off to your gutless baby boomer generation to fumble and fumble again with a spa vacation....too bad he did not gain control of AIG before it failure.
Now, tonight with nancey bitch pussy as again you were condensing to her like all you Eastern commie-democraps are with Obama, so when he is POTUSA be sure to kiss his feet before praying on your rug towards Mecca how many times a day the rag-heads do it....maybe one day soon the American experiment will fail
and then we can divide in peace with East/West states going off in the socialist govenment and us small town folks from central, mid-west and Rocky Mountain West go off in a republic government....otherwise it will be 4 more long of war-on-home front like 1968-72 and this time there be more than 4 dead in Ohio.

Hi,
It was interesting to hear Nancy Pelosi say that she made sure that the Stimulus checks were sent out to low-income people!
I am a Pastor of a Christian Church. The IRS had sent me the postcard in
May that told me I was going to receive the check, but when I looked at
their web-site at the start of September, the page there said that I had
been rejected because I had not made enough money! Our Church obviously
failed me by not paying me enough to qualify for getting the extra Stimulus
money!
--
Here is part of the IRS page:
Where's My Stimulus Payment
This table describes the status of your refund
Social Security Number: ***-**-9715
You did not qualify for the Stimulus payment because your qualifying income
was not high enough. Qualifying income includes wages and net earnings from
self-employment that is includable in taxable income, Social Security
benefits, certain Railroad Retirement benefits and Veterans disability
compensation, disability pension, and survivors benefits received from the
Department of Veterans Affairs.

How could our Church have known that they had to pay me extra to qualify???

Disillusioned, pray tell what are "venal whores"??!
Personally, I didn't care to watch this particular interview, thinking it would be the same old bland stuff we usually hear from liberal Democrats. Even though I like Charlie very much, me thinks he handles them with kid gloves usually.
Jaden 03/03/2008 10:02 PM Report
First, it is Representative Nancy Pelosi, not Senator. She was elected to the House, not the Senate. Second, anyone who did not hear Speaker Pelosi state plenty of specifics needs to watch the interview again. Third, impeachment is off the table for the same reason the Iraq war is still going on. The Dem's majority is way to slim for them to get what they want when they want without lots of compromise. Also, since Bush claims to be a war-time president, he claims the same powers to suspend civil liberties that Lincoln and F.D. Roosevelt claimed. Hopefully, though, the next Democratic Administration will challenge that notion in a court of law while Dems have a substantial majority in both houses. In my opinion impeachment is necessary so that a precident is not set so that future Administrations will not try the same shinanigans.
Dan Dorn 03/03/2008 03:09 PM Report
I was impressed by Speaker Pelosi's presence, her ability to articulate very complicated issues in a very understandable way. I found myself nodding in agreement and feeling assured that there is a plan to turn things around, well thought out and with a great chance of success, then I felt the STING.
THE STING
She never said anything about getting the loopholes out of the foreign worker visa law, and passing effective legislation to make sure that Americans cannot be replaced by foreign visa workers. Americans work hard in compettive educational programs and invested thousands of dollars to be part of the American workforce. Many recent studies have confirmed that there is no shortage of high tech workers in the US.
The issue is and has been:
American living wage jobs and job security for Americans that invest in specialized fields.
No American should lose their job to a foreigner, in their own country.
The majority of Americans right now are afraid for their financial future. I am including college educated citizens that have witnessed friends, family, friends of friends being affected by job loss due to outsourcing and even worse - being replaced by foreign workers here on Visa.
Is this not the biggest slap in the face you can give to someone that has worked so hard to fill what they were told by the Dept of Labor was a need in the workforce. The foreign workers have no rights and work for less wages, and are actually here to streamline outsourcing of high tech jobs.
As a result of this, Americans are less willing to study for these careers, with future job potential unknown. What is worse, is we have lost our trust.
When the supply of labor can be artificially manipulated by bringing in cheaper labor in a very specialized field, the result is that midcareer professionals in that field are pushed into an unplanned retirement early. This spells financial disaster; at a time when you need to be thinking about the education of your children, you are forced to think about the re-education of yourself.
What was allowed to happen to a generation of programmers because of visa loopholes was unforgiveable. What makes it worse is that it has not been acknowledged by anyone at a high level like Speaker Pelosi, and we are not hearing about a solution to the problem.
So then, how do Americans have any faith that this will not happen again? What specialty field will be hit next?
Unfortunately, this leads to a lack of trust that your government cares about you or will do anything to help make your career investment a secure one. The DOL can even lead you astray by predicting job growth in a technical area, but not telling you that the vast majority of the jobs will be taken by foreign workers here on visa - or by foreign workers still here after their visa has expired.
This is why I get a sick to my stomach feeling (like many Americans, I think),when I hear Speaker Pelosi talk about her concern over the lives of workers that have immigrated into this country illegally.
What about the plight of the American middle class worker who invested dearly to fill a need in or workforce and cannot find a job now?
For any healing to take place, this issue needs to be acknowledged and specific solutions need to be constructed so that Americans can expect to have more financial security in the future.

Pathetic responses from the speaker. She knew Bush would refuse to sign a bill to fund the war with conditions of withdrawal. She is a coward! The House does not have to pass any bill to fund the war. PERIOD! She is afraid the Republicans will say she is not supporting OUR TROOPS. I suppose projecting the war indefinitely as McCain honestly says will PROTECT our troops by killing more of them for NOTHING. I am just as disgusted with democrats as I am with republicans. They are crazy if they think we can stay there forever. 9/11 did more damage than we realize because it gave those in power the instrument they need to get what they want: POWER without accountability. That should be GW's motto. He should have been impeached. The democrats are lily livered.

I watched the recent interview with Speaker Nabcy Pelosi and I want to thank Charlie Rose for confronting the Speaker with her inability and that of her Democratic colleagues in the congress to collecively persuade the moderate Republicans in the congress to follow their lead on the war in Iraq.
Their failure is a result of thir inability to educate the American people who would, in turn, put the necessary pressure on moderate Republicans to abandon their ill-advised support of a president and a war policy not supported by a majority of Americans.
In contrast, Senator Barak Obama, an inexperienced, first-term. bi-racial presidential candidate has been able to convince a majority of primary voters---Democrats, Independents, ans Republicans among them---that he has what it takes to be president. THAT is leadership.

The Democratic Party should be proud of having such a smart lady Speaker of the House, -Senator Madame Nancy Pelosi. She is a smart cookie, she is so good answering political questions one wonders why was she not elected in this position before. Senator Madame Pelosi answered Charlie's question (is the American people are ready to elect a woman or an African American for a President?) I love the answer she gave, firm and certain YES! It should be noted that the next President of the United States will undoubtedly be a Democrat and will be one of the two least represented contenders, the United States and the free world will be run from the oval office by either an African American or a woman. Either one of them will bring good to the world and heal America and the world. I am also happy to hear from her that the Democratic race will not be allowed to go all the way to the convention. It is time for Democratic Party to make the decision fast and let's get on the real race between McCain GWB's twin and our candidate. The damages the current administration has caused will take a long time to correct. With respect to the economy, I am not sure it will be brought back to its growth track in only one Democratic Presidential Tenure. The stains are not going to come off easily, they require heavy-duty industrial level cleaning agent to remove those deeply socked stains. Only a Democratic President will be able to remove the stains and heal the world.

Have been disillusioned with Nancy Pelosi for not keeping her pledge to enforce "renewed responsibility" in the House. Today's interview exposed why her mission has been unsucessful.! The insidious "culture of fear" cultivated by the Cheney/ Bush administration has proven to be both bold and impenetrable.

The Democrats are fooling themselves if they think they can pull the rug out from the M-I-Oil complex and their tooooo powerful lobby. Iraq is designed for SUSTAINABILITY! They own all the venal whores in all three branches of government. Plus Blackwater and the other mercenaries will do all they can to extend the chaos by creating it if necessary. They will be rewarded hansomely. We will print the money for them. What's a little inflation for their greed?
dismayed 02/29/2008 12:31 AM Report
The egregious greed of Citigroup et al in inducing the most vulnerable amongst us into variable rate sub-prime mortgages is unconscionable and they need regulating. (What happened to income of 4 to 5 times P&I+Ins to qualify?) Starting with capping usury laws at 2 to 3 times the prime rate. Next to loosen bankruptcy laws to make concessions for health and unemployment exigencies. Capping credit card interest rates would free-up consumer discretionary spending a lot more than a one-off rebate. And lordie they may even go to their grave debt-free. They wont without it. The predators will continue to bleed them and their progeny.
disillusioned 02/28/2008 11:01 PM Report
In my view we are corroding from within fiscally and monetarily. Mostly due to Iraq and recently sub-prime lending. The biggest avoidable drain is the lack of oversight and concomitant corruption in Iraq. All facilitated by the abolishment of the Office of the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction. Stuart Bowen along with the office was jettisoned for uncovering vast wrongdoing. Sorely needs reinstituting. Pelosi, where were / are you? Hiding behind earmarks that need abolishing - as a symbol if nothing else. Where are the statespersons? Both parties are an unholy conglomeration of venal whores.
