Thank You Charlie! It is about time TED was represented on your excellent show. I found the TED site a little over a year ago while I was chasing an internet thread for a lecture by E.O. Wilson. I fell in love with TED, and sent the site link to many friends. TED is bursting with brains and inspiration. As an alternative to the junk-culture trivia that is thrust upon us daily, take a TED instead and recharge those brain cells.

The first I learned of TED was on this Charlie Rose PBS program. I immediately browsed it, signed on and shared it with my husband. We first watched E.O.Wilson and Richard Dawkins. Thank you!

The Swedish Economist to whom Chris referred is Hans Rosling of the Karolinska Institute. He has two videos on ted.com. You can Google him for more info.

The Charlie Rose show has changed my life! I'm in my advanced years and watch every day from 12-1 noontime. It has kindled my creative activities and I've learned so much.
Will the Ted conference be on the internet? I want to hear all that is said.

In an age when the media is pandering to the
lowest common denominator thank you for
keeping your content intelligent and inspiring for us all. I absolutely crave your programming and watch your show as often as possible. This site is a fantastic way to recap the information your guests provide. Thank you, you are certainly one of the people who has changed my life.

In 1995 my high school Government teacher required the students to watch some form of quality, political show. Since I was (and still am) a night-owl, I chose Charlie's show only because it was on late.
13 years later I am more drawn to Charlie's show more than ever because it is a REAL "conversation" that takes place. It's not some disrespectful journalist trying to uncover some ugly truth by placing a guest in an awkward spot.
Charlie, this is another one of your signature, quality, and genuine shows that merits my continued loyalty.
Keep up the good work and Thank You for making these conversations available online. (I watch the TV (PBS) version around bedtime, but I watch a specific episode AGAIN online if it's especially good -- like THIS one!)

YOUR SHOWS ARE ALWAYS ENLIGHTENING AND FASCINATING, EVEN ON SUBJECT MATTER I DIDN'T THINK WOULD INTEREST ME. YOUR PROGRAM LAST NIGHT, 02/18/2008 WAS ESPECIALLY ENLIGHTENING AND SHOULD BE REQUIRED VIEWING FOR ALL STUDENTS, ESPECIALLY WOMEN. SUSAN HOCKFIELD WAS REALLY EXCELLENT, AS WERE THE TWO GENTLEMEN WHO FOLLOWED HER. I AM HOPING TO GET A COPY FOR THE YOUNG PEOPLE I KNOW TO SEE AND HEAR. THANK YOU FOR BRINGING INTELLIGENCE TO TV.

After the show, I looked up the book Chris Anderson mentioned. I did not catch the authors name but had the book title " The Happiness Hypothesis'
Now I know it is by Jonathan Haide
Read a bit and now, I CAN NOT WAIT TO GET THE BOOK! Got into philosophy and a whole lot of stuff! Thank you for this as I feel this is going to be one extra extraordinary book.....thank you
lkahraman 02/19/2008 01:02 AM Report
I also missed the exact name of that book (just heard the word "happiness")but after doing some search I believe it is "happiness hypothesis", by Jonathan Haidt. He takes part in the final talk of this years's ted conference. He also has a website; http://people.virginia.edu/~jdh6n/
Please correct me if I am wrong...

Your program tonight, 02/18/08, included Chris Anderson who mentioned the best book that he had read this year. It was written by a psychologist. I would like the name of the psychologist and, if possible, the title of the book that Mr. Anderson referenced.
Thanks,
Audrey Eisen, Ph.D.

I am trying to find a replay on Computer for the conversation Charlie Rose had on MPT TV with a man speaking of macroeconomics, as it relates to what is happening now. Or, where to purchase a DVD of the show. It has been broadcase twice, and I have seen only the end of it twice. I do not know the name of the person interviewed. It was on today, 2/18/07 on MPT in Baltimore, MD.at 12:30 PM. Can you help me?
