Good Day Sir Richard Branson & Friends,
All thought is creative...I'm sure you will agree.
With that being said, me & my team at SKC GLOBALMARKETING would be glad to share our latest conceptualizations with you and your team.
In particular, our directives within the entertainment marketing and film production industries.
For further info and a brief insight on myself as well as my company SKC, please fell free to visit www.skcglobalmarketing.com
Our film-productions arm is kept confidential at this moment in time, but is set to fully launch early first-quarter of 2009. Right now we are securing funding for current filming projects, which I'd be glad to share with you, as we do have a few positions available for percentage share interests within the lifetime gross of our projects.
The greatest thing about this conceptualization, is our niche of choice & the numerous opportunities we will be to provide to individuals such as artists, producers, casting agents, extras, models, actors & actresses, managers, graphic designers, writers...and so much more.
The idea here is of innovation and massive benefit, whereas many of our companies proceeds can be gifted to foundations, charities, and benefits of our choosing.
I'm sure you have some great ones in mind.
I am looking forward to continuing the discussions here and achieving the possibility of a working relationship.
Most Sincerely,
Samuel Peterson

I love this man-he is forward thinking and an inspiration to everyone. He is socially involved and a true entreprenuer. Interesting to hear his input on distribution of wealth-I personally think it would hinder innovation.

what kind of leadership style do you use. are you more relationship oriented or more task oriented
Shalom Freedman 08/01/2008 08:34 AM Report
Branson is a person of great daring, courage, initiative and vision. He is to be commended for efforts to make this a better world, to reduce global pollution, diminish the threat from global warming, provide answers to problems which are afflicting the poor of the world.
But he is not it seems to me the most astute politically or the wisest in his understanding of the global situation. At the end of the interview he suggests that the world community be tolerant of the Iranian which he calls 'Arab effort' to have 'nuclear weapons'. This shows a major lack of understanding of the nuclear- proliferation scene. If Iran goes nuclear many others will.
H also seems to me less than astute in his selection of 'elders' to guide the world - community. Bishop Tutu may be a hero in regard to South Africa but his statements on the Middle East show a woeful lack of real knowledge about the situation.

Grace's rant is quite humorous. There is wonderful irony in all these people who are do-gooders and are going to save us and the planet. We have Sir Richard, and of course, Michael Moore on health care.
While I wouldn't expect Sir Richard to stop flying his planes, it is reasonable to suggest that Michael Moore shed a few pounds.
After all, one of your recent guests suggested that obesity is a major financial drain on the U.S. healthcare system.
Oh well, as always, life goes on. And . . . thank you Charlie for your great shows and Grace for your wonderful rant.

I enjoy your show very much, and watch it almost every night. In listening to Richard Branson last night, I heard him say that ethanol combustion does not produce carbon dioxide. In fact, complete combustion of ethanol produces two molecules of CO2 for every molecule of ethanol.

Sir Richard mentioned spending last weekend with a climate change specialist who suggested we have 40 years left....Does anyone know who he was referring to ? I thought he said Hoffman or Kauffman. Looking for the research reference

Quit school when he was 15?! I'm all for being self-driven and initiative-based learning, however, a sense of invulnerability helps, no doubt. I'm just happy that there are individuals, in his position, that are philanthropic.

Per Grace's message 2/12 @ 11:36 PM, I wonder if you realize that in order for Sir Richard Branson to be in a position to propose The Virgin Earth Challenge to individuals like me, he would have to have the means financially in order to provide this opportunity for us. Richard Branson's successes from the age of fifteen forward, are evidenced with his respect for the future of mankind, global warming and other philanthropic endeavors. Had it not been for messengers like Al Gore and Richard Branson, we lay people would never have the opportunity to get our ideas out there. Gratitude beyond measure is how I feel about the men who have the capacity to find a solution to global warming-what ever it takes to achieve a meaningful result long term.

Kudos to Sir Richard, undoubtedly one of the worlds leading innovators!
Virgin Earth is a bold vision to solve the pressing problem of Carbon Sequestration. By reaching out over the web to find solutions, VE could potentially tap the creative potential of hundreds of thousands of scientists and individuals.
We'd love to be a part of this Open Innovation initiative. We have worked with companies like Cisco (www.cisco.com/iprize) on similiar iniatives.

What I like and admire about Sir Richard Branson is his concern for the environment and other people on planet earth, as well as his zest for life. Great example of altruism at its best.

I have great admiration for Sir Richard Branson, I appreciate that he is making an effort and acknowledges the irony of this system that allows few to own a lot, while many go without. He obviously appreciates the beauty of this planet and I believe is sincere in his desire in preserving it.
I wish there were more people like him.
Thank you Charlie

Charlie, I enjoyed your conversation with Sir Richard Branson last evening. Certainly, he presents a positive outlook on the world's problems. Perhaps he does play a larger role than most in contributing to global warming and it seems to me that he acknowledges this. What impresses me is his leadership initiatives that make a difference.
Phil 02/13/2008 03:16 PM Report
Grace,
I'm not sure this will appease you entirely but Richard Branson pledged all future profits of his airlines and train company towards finding clean fuels. It does include reinvesting in his own clean fuel companies as well as giving to others but I for one don't begrudge him doing it that way:

Am I missing something? Richard Branson of Virgin Airline - which I assume is still in business, is CONCERNED about carbon and the atmosphere!!!! Get with it - Charlie are you going to mention that? What's up? And Rocket to the moon - fuel by Branson. "Must, must, America must,..." what is he blabbering about - he, much more than, I has contributed to the world's global warming problem with his airplanes. Excuse me, he's paying someone 25 million to come up with an idea for how to take carbon out of the atmosphere, while he continues to fly planes for profit... his profit.
I don't hear him saying he's going to stop Virgin Airlines. What is the point of talking to this guy about saving the planet from global warming, when he's making billions off of polluting the air with fuel emissions. And now he's blaming other countries, namely America, for things like the taxing of sugar???? Please. Stop this b-s. Why am I listening to him on this subject? Like I said, am I missing something?

PS- Charlie Rose is truly someone with unmistakable style!!
