      Charlie,

You were not having a nightmare about laying on an amputation table during the civil war. At the very beginning of "Dances With Wolves," Kevin Costner was having that nightmare in reality as his character barely avoided losing his foot to the "surgeons" who left to be "coffeed up" before lifting up their saws again.

The Civil War is a never-ending source for material. Thanks for discussing this "March" book. I trust he left a little happier than when he came, even though he doesn't like to admit it. I remember him from the last time he was on. He was wearing the same shirt and coat then too--a very interesting author to listen to, as well as to read.
