Wow, thanks for this, and any time you can get Mr. Plant in there, I'll be here watching, always a pleasure, thank you to everyone!

I've listened to this three times. Um, literally every sentence from all of them offers a way in towards understanding the magic of making music and listening to records. I don't know what to say. Without any ego-stroking pretension these legends offer a gateway in...thanks Charlie.

Fabulous tribute to a musical success that rewards integrity, honesty and talent. Good work, Charlie. Thank you.

sorry, strident is too harsh - can someone help me here?

    6. bobbie D  08/08/2008 05:39 PM Report

Greetings Charlie - great job with these two incredible voices. I grew up in disbelief at the singing ability of this mad rocker and while always liked bluegrass and C&W only recently discovered Alison Krauss and am a HUGE fan.

Her comments about her voice are too modest - she soars in the heavens and T Bone had it right in that the two are unwordly. I don't think they have hit their stride because in a strangely strident way they are competing .... but sooo good!!

      all the best Charlie!!

I saw the Raising Sand concert last night at the Greek Theatre in L.A., and I was blown away. Just extraordinary. I'm a long-time fan of Robert Plant, both during and after Led Zeppelin. Not as knowledgeable about Allison Krauss, but the combination was otherworldly. I can see what T Bone means about the tones of music. Their voices share a mystical quality. If you can catch the tour, don't miss it.

I love the album and have 4th row seats in St. Louis, to see Robert mainly, of course.

    9. Doug Walker  04/27/2008 04:05 AM Report

great show about a great project - T-Bone

is really the master at achieving the kind

of sound known as "Americana" or, as

      he calls it, American music!

I agree with Brad, and everyone else. Great interview with these three and the interview with Robert from 2005 is also fantastic. Such good questions and I think Robert felt that as well. I love seeing Robert so real and honest about his thoughts. What's funny is that Robert described the same feeling with the strange sensations as T Bone described with Ringo's story of the Beatles in the studio... 'the musicians and god'. When it's good... it's really good. Congrats on another great interview Charlie. We know we can always count on you.

    11. susana  04/12/2008 03:11 AM Report

I agree with everyone else - what a great interview, and so much fun too. Charlie did a great job at bringing out an inereting conversation with depth and light-heartedness. And Robert come forth as a very centered and sane human being, something you don't always perceive from people with such a high profile. Fabulous interview.

The key comment by Plant:' A GREAT WAY TO RETIRE."

    13. richard  02/24/2008 07:17 PM Report

Great interview! Along with her singing, Alison is also part of that "great band" that Robert mentioned. Her fiddle is never too far away, and she can make it "sing" as well as she can. A complete musician!

I really enjoyed the interview charlie. I think it could have been advertized better though. I had to watch it online, but I would have liked to have seen it on TV. I really like Led Zepplin so this album was enjoyable for me. I had only heard Alison Krauss a couple of times prior to the release of the album, but I am becoming a big fan. I got the CD as soon as I heard about it, and it was a worthy perchase. Great job guys. I love you!

Alison Krauss is absolutley my favorite singer ever! I got the CD two days after it was released and I was fascinated. I had never really herad Robert Plant before, and I was totally blown away!!! This interview was put together reaaly well and it provided lots of information about the album that I thought was worth knowing. I love the CD!!! I love the interview!!!

    17. ewick  11/17/2007 04:25 PM Report

As ever Charlie, you bring out the very best in your guests. I'm a huge fan of you and each of your guests. Another interview very well done.

    18. Brad  11/17/2007 09:25 AM Report

Just wonderful! Charlie does such a terrific job of digging in and yet doesn't get in the way of the guests.

So refreshing to enjoy and really almost feel a part of the conversation.

      Thank you.

    19. Cookie  11/16/2007 11:24 PM Report

warning - if you buy the cd off off amazon, watch the shipping price - somehow I paid 11.99 shipping for an 11.99 cd. Oh Mr Bezos!

    20. Mel Boss  11/15/2007 10:10 PM Report

What a great interview: intelligent, though-provoking, insightful and sensitive! Charlie knows to "listen" and thus interact. All the things that Larry King has no clue to do... I'd love to see Charlie interview Eric Clapton (Larry has botched that interview TWICE). Great interview - thanks for that!

    21. Cookie  11/15/2007 08:23 PM Report

Fantastic interview! The song that opened the interview was great - I loved it - I am buying the cd tonight for myself and looking for the other music they mentioned. Thank you very very much!

    22. Mike Badger  11/15/2007 07:23 PM Report

So when will we see your interview with Jimmy Page?

    23. Cynth  11/15/2007 09:49 AM Report

This is a wonderful dialog about music and the making of the album Raising Sand. I love watching the repeats of it on the digital PBS channels.

The depth of the conversation is just incredible, and I can't wait for it to become available on this site. It's just wonderful.
