    1. Richard Gonzales  12/19/2007 08:36 AM Report

Govenor Richardson will be the first democrat for whom I have ever voted. He has an ability to cross party lines and a vision that is based on something other than pure ambition.

    2. dmitry  12/08/2007 07:04 PM Report

Most of Richardson's answers were very uninspiring. His solution for everything seems to be the federal government. I really don't see much difference between him and say Obama. His foreign policy views are naive and ineffective. He might be a good negotiator, but as Charlie has pointed out, as President he won't do many direct negotiations. If fact Charlie has done a very good job getting out (non)answers from Richardson. I only wish he'd drill Republican candidates equally hard (didn't see many hard questions and follow ups in Huckabee and Thompson interviews).

Patti should be ecstatic with Shrub. He's murdered more humanity than most and closing in on Sadam. As governor he denied all petitions for clemency. So rejoice! Just drool over renditions and waterboarding in between executions if you need a 'fix.' Merry Christmas!

hi, thank you for showing the whole interview. i posted a coupla days ago upset that you only showed a 5 minute clip, but now i was able to watch the whole fifty minutes. still, the link should not say "buy" this video, it should say "watch" this video. but anyways, thanks for making the change to inlclude the whole interview. i think now after having watched this video i will be caucusing for either richardson for the dems or huckabee for the repubs, they are clearly the two best candidates to match up now.

    5. Ms. JW   11/09/2007 02:55 AM Report

I agree with "Maybe" totally. However, I have just signed up to work on Richardson's campaign. Necessary to keep my sanity & keep taking that next "breath". Come on everyone, we need ability, integrity, & guts in our next President. If he has the vision to take on such a tremendous job we have to help him. He can not do it alone. If "Mabybe" is right, at least I will know I did EVERYTHING I could to save this country, myself & maybe the world, the way our politicians & the world are going down the tube. Citizens unite, we have an important role here.....Ms JW

    6. Jim  11/08/2007 11:17 PM Report

Given some of the negative comments on the Richardson interview I cannot believe we watched the same show!

He NAILED it!!! There was no vascillating...only straight-on, completely candid responses.

He's been a legislator, a diplomat, and an executive.

Would that the rest of the crowd had his experience, ability and the confidence that flows therefrom.

    7. Mallory  11/08/2007 10:50 PM Report

Personally I think that Charlie Rose should be president.

    8. Jonny  11/08/2007 05:53 PM Report

I was pretty dissapointed with many of Gov. Richardson's responses. It seemed like he tried to dodge many of the questions or didn't have a strong answer. I thought Charlie did a fabulous trying to get Gov. Richardson to actually answer the questions he asked. They were difficult questions and I expected more from Gov. Richardson. I did like his idea of bringing leaders into his cabinet like Lee Iacocca and others.

    9. Cookie  11/08/2007 05:39 PM Report

Well done again. You let him come through, Charlie. Not my choice for President, but seemed like someone I could respect.

    10. Gary Hansen  11/08/2007 04:35 PM Report

Are you interviewing all of the Presidential candidates?

If so could you kindly post the interview dates on your website?

It was a credit to NPR that they impartially featured all the candidates. I trust that you will be able to follow their example. That means including those (like Senator Mike Gravel) who have been openly forthright in questioning current political ends and means.

    11. Aligorical  11/08/2007 04:25 PM Report

Federal this and federal that!!Big daddy government has all the answers of how to run your life doesn't it?At least thats what they want you to think.

Richarson is another big government, globalist, big brother, new world order corporate control puppet. These people want to control your life and everyone elses and usurp whats left of the constitution. Hillary,Obama,Edwards,Dodd,Biden,Guiliani,Mcain,Romney,Huckabee are also all working from the same empirical script.

      God help this country!!!!

    12. Rita Sanchez  11/08/2007 03:28 PM Report

Thank you for your informative and entertaining conversation with Gov. Bill Richardson. If every candidate approached politics and life with a more positive attitude... we the voters would be better off!!! Keep up the good work!

    13. Patti  11/08/2007 03:04 PM Report

Gov. Richardson is so arrogant that he released a first degree murderer Janet Vigil after only serving 1/2 of her sentence in NM. He totally ignored the fact that Janet Vigil was convicted by a jury of her peers and that the conviction was upheld by the supreme court of NM.

Two previous governors denied her petition for early release.

Recently Richardson has been on the outs with the women, whom along with family of Janet Vigil, spearheaded the public campaign to release Janet Vigil based on fiction not fact. The only conclusion is that Richardson cared more about political clout from what he had perceived to be helpful for his political career then what is just and right as was determined by a jury and the supreme court of NM.

What does this say about Bill Richardson as a leader for the future of our country? What does this say about his moral choices? He himself says that the bad guys love him and he says it with pride. Itâ??s no wonder they love him.

    14. Careless  11/08/2007 02:17 PM Report

Wow, Richardson looked terrible when quizzed on Iran/Sudan/Zimbabwe. Making no substantive comment at all or proposing useless measures (yeah, Russia will help you stop Iran from getting nukes. That's why they're supplying them with the tools to make them.) because there was no way he'd say "military option" on tape.

I also liked (speaking of New Mexico's pathetic school system/results) "The Federal government is not funding the Indian reservations [schools in New Mexico\, which is their responsibility... I'm not making excuses."

Aside from those things, though, not too bad. It's not like there are a lot of candidates with reasonable foreign policy plans running around these days anyway, and domestically he sounded ok, if totally uninspiring.

    15. Chris  11/08/2007 11:03 AM Report

      Lucy Christopher--

Huckabee was the first candidate interviewed. Click on "Candidates" on the right of your screen.

    16. Chris  11/08/2007 10:57 AM Report

The interview with Gov. Bill Richardson was terrific. For once feelings about the American future are boyed thanks to Richardson, and he would make a good nominee. It's also good to show snipets of the interviews online as quick refreshers. Looking forward to seeing other candidates to compare.

    17. Maybe   11/08/2007 10:55 AM Report

Richardson's negotiating capabilities coupled with his FULL withdrawal from Iraq wins my sentiment. Afraid wont be able to vote for him. We aren't smart enough to nominate him. He's not arrogant enough to be a legitimate citizen. Throw him back until he bottom-feeds enough to preempt wars, torture, rendition, kill, maime and slaughter. Damned rookie will ruin our reputation. Venality, corruption and hubris are at stake here people. Ahh, but Hillary will save us!

    18. Cookie  11/07/2007 04:09 PM Report

Interesting clip - looking forward to seeing the rest. The snippets are a great idea. Thanks.
