Ya, I guess this has all been said before, but i just couldn't figure out what the old boys beef was with her. I have seen some crappy interviews in my 40 years and this was not the worst. It is however the worst i have ever seen from Mr.Rose.
I have been a supporter of him since i first started watching him in the early 90's on PBS. I guess when you have that much history it's O.K. to blow one but sheeeit let the woman finish a sentence.
I was bragging about what a great interviewer he is to an old friend of mine, who just so happens to be my ex-wife. I told her to look him up on youtube. she saw the interview and said that after recommending that crap she wished she could divorce me again. Luckily, Charlie saw fit to suck up to Robert Plant though in a different interview and saved my meager retirement account.
I think maybe I am a little sensitive to the situation because i myself had the same sort of political shift from conservative to fairly liberal. I have had to deal with alot of crap, from alot of dicks that think of politics from a high school pep rally mind set.
I'm fairly thick skinned about it.
I guess when you are a many times published author and syndicated columnist who by many is seen as a turncoat you must be thick skinned also. It's nice to see a liberal that isn't some clap trap idiot attention seeker like Rosie O'donnell or whoopie Goldberg spewing mindless scripted rhetoric that they are obviously not intelligent enough to think of on their own.
A side note that has little to do with anything political or Charlie Rosical. Arianna Huffington is hot as hell, and I love that voice of hers. She comes off very confident and composed even under fire. Total milf. Well Maybe milf is a bit much but i surely wouldn't mind a cocktail and some lively conversation with someone who can obviously hold her own.
I think the best thing about her is that she has seen deep inside both beasts. She knows the ugly side and the pretty side of both
Its a difficult thing to change several years of public perceptions. I don't want to imply she is some kind of hero. Patriot though maybe. Willing to take the heat even when it makes you look wishy washy.
I like that Charlie always has topical guests. Artists, architects, and scientists, writers, real new makers. He isn't afraid to check out some pop culture. He isn't afraid to talk movies or politics.
So in 15 years of viewing his show I have had two bitches.
The first was when that french ambassador to the U.N. The night before he testified about the new gulf war. I really think he should have brought up the oil lease agreements that the french were trying to protect. Their history or instances of bomb trigger sales to bad guys.
This would have helped Americans see that war is always about money. If Rush Limbaugh ever said anything worth remembering. 1. SNAPPLE is good. 2. Follow the money.
The only other time I have been pissed at
Charlie is just not letting Arianna Huffington talk.
If he wants someday to make it up to me
he can have on some pro pot, pro gun people who are articulate, or send me a t-shirt. Remember
"real people" from like 83 they loved sending t-shirts. A sticker?
I'm going to go let the legal prescription
ADD meds wear off and let the legal valium kick in now. Night All

I was offended by Rose's treatment of Arianna Huffington. I'm not an activist;just a guy who occasionally watches Charlie Rose.
If Rose doesn't like Huffington, he should at least have striven to be professional. It's time to put him out to pasture.

I watched the interview and I was disappointed. I cannot recall Rose ever interrupting a guest so much. It would be interesting to measure how long Rose spoke compared to his guest -- at times it seemed that the segment was about Rose's views. There was obviously an issue that Rose took exception to, but it was not clear what that was to justify this much derision towards a guest. I wish Rose gave this much scrutiny to some of our elected officials.

I just viewed Charlie Rose's interview with Arianna Huffington. I can't believe how obnoxios Rose was to his interviewee. I have been watching Charlie Rose for years and have seen some excellent interview and a few bad ones. This was one of the worst. Rose was all over the place, constantly interrupting Huffington and barely able to conceal his contempt for her. I am not a Huffington fan, but I am a fan of fair and respectful dialogue. This was not an example of graciousness or respect. It was sad.

I just watched a repeat of the show with
Arriana Huffington, and for the first time I was dissapointed in Mr. Roses interviews skills, or lack of them. He seemed to be purposely attempting to derail anything she was attempting to say. I am aware of some of her background and was suprised at how she remained so COMPLETELY calm. Mr. Rose needed to be told to keep to the subject at hand or to mind his manners and if nothing else to allow her to finish a sentence or thought before interrupting.

Very interesting conversation.
It will be equally interesting/great if a male leader be interviewed in the same line of discussion, for a change! THANKS.

I thought the conversation was dated and stale.

Arianna was as always, amazing. A real force of nature and an inspiration to women who have a passion for politics, and want to be more involved.
Charlie's intention to have more women on his program is very much appreciated!
