Welcome to America, Sandy!
Sandy kahn 10/28/2007 01:52 PM Report
I cannot believe that the kind of person who clogs up the bloggers comments on the part of the web I call the 'nonsense net' has come here
and responded to something I consider very special. Charlie Rose is in my estimation, the
best interviewer on TV and since Jude Law is not only talented and exceedingly handsome but
also possesses a fine mind and as such is a
pleasure to listen to anytime he gets a chance
to talk to other serious people. Yes he's got a sense of humor too but the comments of the
people here (not all, of course there are true
and sensible comments as well) do not merit their being read and commented on individually.
Jude spoke honestly and openly about things that are hard to talk about and has come a long way in his own journey to understand himself. Bravo Jude on all accounts.
Pims 10/23/2007 07:33 PM Report
Poor Jude - if this is his fan base his next movie better come with a oxygen tank.
Belinda 10/23/2007 08:56 AM Report
I loved the interview. I love all of Charlie Rose's interviews with Jude Law. They seem to be right on the same wavelength. It' so good to see Jude looking healthy, confident, and proud of his work. I will always support this very talented actor. He and his work are so far above most of the garbage that Hollywood produces. It is refreshing to see a 35 year old that is committed to really good cinema and really good theatre.
Daphne 10/22/2007 10:37 PM Report
Finally, the video. It's quite good. I like Rose's interview style; it's a rare departure from the usual talk-show fare where everybody laughs like hyenas at everything. And I am looking forward to seeing Sleuth.
//Apart from this interview, this is a good site. Rose's show is on only at some weird hour in my area, and not too reliably either, so seeing all the interviews here is good. It's too bad about the comments. Some people evidently consider themselves very witty. *shrug* It's the internet so that's inevitable I suppose.
Pims 10/22/2007 06:08 PM Report
Hey, speaking of better parts - Judde as Hamlet? I love it. I owe somebody a gift over in London so I am going to try to get him and his wife tickets -- oh, and Mr Frost, thanks ever so for your gallantry - the posters around these part tend to be a bit..um...dry. you'd think Henry Kissinger would have better things to do with his time. Sigh.
sheryl 10/22/2007 05:50 PM Report
Thanks for making this video available. I really enjoyed it when it aired, as I've enjoyed all of Jude's interviews. I'm glad that he's been able to put all that mess behind him, because going through that stuff is not easy privately, much less living it out publicly.
dolorescraeg 10/22/2007 04:09 PM Report
the mutual respect that mr. rose and jude law have for each other is so visible in every interview. jude is one of the most intelligent and articulate actors of his generation. his choice of words and the thought he puts behind them mesmerizes me. his honest answers about the media frenzy that surrounded him impressed me. you could feel some of the pain he went through. thank you charlie rose for giving us such a treat....the delicious jude law.....
Mr. Frost 10/22/2007 01:44 PM Report
I'm calling what you people attacking Pims for a comment that wasn't even an attack on Mr. Law as childish behavior and a disgrace. Pims said nothing to deserve your crazed disillusioned talk. None of what you wrote was respectful towards Pims.
Really, you people should get a life. Go back to your senior citzen homes.
sheryl 10/22/2007 01:32 PM Report
Mr Frost: Now YOUR post was the funny one! Calling people who post respectful and thoughtful comments regarding the interview a "disgrace" and say they are "acting like children" is simply brilliant. Do you write for anyone in particular? Jay? Conan? Rosie? I think you and Pims might be better served by hanging with the other teenagers on the Perez Hilton site or something. Charlie Rose is much too classy for you.
dolores craeg 10/22/2007 09:28 AM Report
i cannot believe that jude law who made one mistake which was escalated by a tabloid frenzy for two years is still taking heat from people who know nothing about him. how many adored celebrities have done much worse and they are never crucified the way jude was. somewhere i remember reading to err is human to forgive devine. jude is a great actor a devoted father and very liked and respected by those who actually know him....as for pims...of course he is perfect and never went off course. what a rare individual. jude law, to me, is the quintessence of beauty and talent. i'll see sleuth more than once. this actor is a rarity of one, beauty and brains.
Pims 10/22/2007 09:14 AM Report
why thank you, Mr Frost. It has always been my sense that Jude has a naughty sense of humor. And he was terrific in "Closer". Must dash - more legs to pull and all that.
Mr. Frost 10/22/2007 06:35 AM Report
Pims: You rock. I laughed at what you said.
The rest of you. I'm a Jude fan, too but you're a disgrace for acting like children on this board. He would be ashamed to see this if he ever came here.
Daphne 10/22/2007 12:02 AM Report
Note to Pims: You may think you've made a joke, but it's not a joke when nobody laughs.
Actually your comments are not as bad as many of the others I've seen. It's just surprising to see them here since I didn't expect that sort of thing on Charlie Rose's site (on gossip blogs, yes).
sheryl 10/21/2007 06:18 PM Report
Pims,
Oh, okay...what about the "two checks" comment? Was that a joke? If so, I didn't get it, either. I'm sorry...I must be really, really dense or something.
No, but seriously, if in your joking you are referring (you never did explain, after all, so I can only assume) to his escapade two years ago, that stuff really is old and tiresome; hence the reaction you received here, I suppose.
Pims 10/21/2007 04:51 PM Report
I feel very attacked and crucified. I am going to go read my new Alan Bennett book and let all of you sanctimonious and patronizing nincompoops try to figure out how to find your way out of a joke without your glasses. (note to self - Pims and cheese dont mix well)
Daphne 10/21/2007 04:26 PM Report
I came here to check out the video too because this Charlie Rose episode hadn't played in my area yet. Then I see this crap about his "morals". Goodness people, and I am talking to this Pims person here, you think your moral conduct is perfect? You think it's fair to have to live your private life under the microscope as Law does, and then have the idiot tabloid press tear you up for the public's salacious enjoyment? I guess we should all be in awe at the perfection of your moral life.
What I find even more irritating is how quick and ready people are to make moral judgments as if it were a casual joke. Are people so shallow? May be this is an internet phenomenon? Whatever, it's even more tiresome than the finger-pointing.
Pims 10/21/2007 04:14 PM Report
Two checks.
sheryl 10/21/2007 04:01 PM Report
I came here to see if the Jude video happened to be available yet...I see it's not but hope it's there soon.
Pim, are you serious? You think statements like "morals of an alley cat" aren't unfair? And just a bit cliche? Hence my question, what morals are you referring to? If it has to do with the actions that led to his and Sienna's breakup, my feeling about that is, GOOD! It meant there was something obviously wrong, and judging from her behaviors since, I'm of the opinion that Sienna is the victim of Sienna alone and no one else.
Pims 10/21/2007 03:12 PM Report
crucified? oh please - it's called p.r. He should send me a check for keeping this thread going. He is quite talented - wish he got better parts. That Diaz movie was painful. eeew.
Pims 10/21/2007 11:22 AM Report
can I make it up to everyone by saying that Jude is said by some to be the finest actor of his generation? : -)
ClassActCharlie 10/21/2007 12:43 AM Report
I see you're not just a sanctimonious phony, but a patronizing sanctimonious phony.
ClassActCharlie 10/20/2007 11:09 PM Report
Pims, What about your own morals, eh? Did your mother ever tell you about casting stones? Sanctimonious phony you are.
Aside: Good interview. Not surprising though. Charlie's first rate and Law, besides talented, is an interesting and articulate guy. Good combo.

Wonderful! This is the first time that I have been able to read a fair and supportive comment from an individual. I absolutely concure that the media and public have been particularly vitriolic regarding Mr. Law and true; many others have escaped such wrath for far worse. My support to this talented actor.

Margaret: That's because I do not buy into the tabloid garbage, which survives on as much salaciousness as can be conjured up and kept afloat for as long as possible; I instead tend to believe the words of those people who actually know him and work with him personally.
Pims: Just exactly what alley-cat morals are you referring to?
Pims 10/20/2007 08:22 PM Report
he gets attacked because he has the morals of an alley cat. not that that's a bad thing. if you like alleys. or cats.

I love Jude interviews, and I particularly love the Charlie Rose interviews. I'm glad for Jude that he's emerged "in one piece" with a different perspective after the excessive amount of attention he received a couple of years ago and the unfair way his "mistakes" were treated so much more severely then other celebs (or non-celebs). Anyway, I'm looking forward to Sleuth coming to a theater near me!
Pims 10/19/2007 08:27 PM Report
Jude could have a great career just remaking Micheal Caine movies. :-)
