Love seeing Annie in this personal-banter-setting!! Please have her back for the FULL HOUR again sometime soon.. she's most awesome :-D

OMG...Annie's first visit to Charlie's table was incredible. What happened here??? I have to agree with Elizabeth's comment. And did you notice Annie's body language after that silly question. Oh my...well, here's hoping she'll be back. Cheers!

In my opinion Mr. Rose maybe is not quite right in acting towards Annie Lennox the way he does.

Confronting oneself, I would call the actual human challenge. To me, the truely brave Annie Lennox shows an inspiring example with respect to this meaning and deserves great respect for it, in my opinion, anyway. However, they say the greatest coward can hurt the most ferociously.

I agree with all here. In 2003 Charlie says lets do #2, #3 and #4, but quite tops the first one.

12m is NOT enough time to listen to Annie. What a shut-off?!!

Annie has always connected with me - more so with 'Song of Mass Destruction' - This has to be the Masterpiece so far.

WOW. I haven't even watched the interview yet and I'm already bummed. Mr. Rose couldn't you have simply kept the cameras rolling and had the interview last the full hour as you did back in 2003? I actually purchased it from you in VHS and again when you released it on DVD.

I almost don't even want to watch it.

PLEASE TRY TO HAVE HER BACK ON FOR A FULL HOUR SOON!!! MS. LENNOX DESERVES A FULL HOUR AGAIN!

      Hi,

I love your show Charlie! But only 15 minutes with Annie??? Can you have her back and give her more time or was the interview just edited. Her album "Songs of Mass Destruction" is the best work she has done. Listen to SING, as Annie has donated the proceeds to help combat the HIV/Aids crisis in South Africa. Annie has not only made a fantastic album, but is also using her music to help make a positive change in the world. Not many can say that!

    7. TABS  10/19/2007 04:27 AM Report

Annie Lennoxs mind works so quickly trying to define and to articulate her emotions and thoughts in a understandable way. She really is a dear heart. One thing did became apparent, Mr Rose didn't seem to be able to follow or perhaps comprehend what she was trying to explain and lost interest. I would juxtaposition this interview with Mr Roses Alan Alda intereview. In that interview it left me feeling that here are two guys growing older who are finally becoming introspective and examining their lives. Maybe late is better than never?

    8. Antonio  10/19/2007 01:48 AM Report

      Dear Mr. Rose,

again you've made a terrific choic of a guest by having Annie Lennox on your show.

I think she's fantastic because amongst other reasons she sings with her soul.

Unfortunately, as she began to bare that soul, you cut her off.

I thought Charlie wanted tuna that tasted good.

Don't we have the time to savor the flavor of a good interview, anymore.

Pardon me if I'm being moronic but did you really cut her off or was that just edited? Either way, I was shocked and I was left thinking, "oh that poor thing!" Antonio, Phx.

Thanks anyway, no one's perfect, eh?

Your viewers have raved about your past discussions with Annie Lennox, but as usual lately, we barely got to hear her. Instead, your program has become so ponderous and dulled by powerful corporate elite that we barely see true intellectuals anymore. And when we do, you cut them short and/or argue with them.

We rarely tune in anymore. Another loss.

    10. Scott   10/18/2007 02:07 AM Report

What was that? I saw Annie perform last night in Boulder and she poured her heart out in performing and promoting HIV/AIDS prevention in sub Sahara Africa. No mention of SING is a disservice to us all. I hope there is more of the interview to be shown or that you will have her back on for atleast a half hour. 11. Elizabeth Coady  10/18/2007 01:00 AM Report

Charlie, you gave short shrift to Annie Lennox during her last appearance on her show. She just got pouring her guts out on the horror of everyday life, and then you followed up with a totally unrelated comment. I could see you were running out of time, but this was a bad edit and a missed opportunity to explore more of what one does with those feelings of hopelessness.

      Best,EC
