      Jodie's one extraordinary human being. I have the outmost respect for her as the most talented, brilliant actress as I do for one and only Meryl Streep. Both of them explore the deepest insights of human nature and speak out for "the soul". For me, it's a sheer joy to see Ms. Jodie Foster in a movie and listen to what she has to say and present as a character she's playing. Also, I admire her tremendously as a director and as an executive producer. Jodie's so driven and I hope she never stops acting nor directing because she's a true treasure of the world and she has so much to say... Jodie, "You're simply the best"! "The Brave One" really resonated through my soul and my mind and I was able to relate to your character of Erica Bane because I spent my best years as a teenager through the horrible war in Bosnia. And... Mr. Charlie Rose, THANK YOU, for having Jodie and all other smart, interesting guests on your show, no matter from what venues of career life they come from. I'm glued to the TV every time I watch your show!

      Contrary to Alan in NYC's pretentiousness I find Jodie Foster to be one of the 2 or 3 most most amazing actresses/actors in films today precisely because she brings that edgy intellectuality to her acting without any pretense. Her ability to do this is precisely one of the reasons why she is so great. I too have watched her since the days when she played along side Helen Hayes in that Castle movie. I do not think I have missed a performance of hers since. Clearly she is well studied in the critical genres in today's many levels of critical thinking about art. But instead of floating her ideas out in the ether as is done in the "Ivory Towers" she breathes life into the ether such as Barthe calls punctum(sp?) in his essays on 'In Camera". She IS amazing!!!

      Jodie looks every bit a star that she's always been and she's undeniably fiercely intelligent.

      But I can't help feeling that all the stuff she's saying here are rather pretentious. She talks like she has everything figured out, but in reality she probably hasn't.

      I could not remember the name of the similar film in the '70s while I was watching but thanks to Google pulled up 'Death Wish'. Richard Corliss in Time Magazine today wrote a highly insightful interview http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1661951,00.html

      comparing the two in which he says that NYC is no longer the very dangerous place it was (Not yet Disneyland, but safer than many).

      Could this also be a reaction to 9/11? This is a dangerous world and we have to arm ourselves and go out and eliminate the bad guys?

      Shame she doesn't come up with a more nuanced project. I don't plan to see the movie. I saw 'Death Wish'. Have her on talking about film in general. She's a good interview.

      As an entertainer, I find it fascinating to hear how other artists approach their craft.

      Jodie Foster may not portray the most attractive characters, but she's much more attractive than a Pam Anderson or Carmen Elektra, in an interview. There's nothing quite like an attractive woman with an intellect.

      I couldn't watch the interview. I was too stunned by Jodie Foster's beauty. I don't like seeing someone so beautiful. It's heartbreaking.

      I am 44, six months younger that she is, I have been in love with Jodie since at least Tom Sawyer (1973).....

      I fall in love with her all over again everytime I see her like this.

      Jodie Foster is one of the most complete film artists living.

      Her intellectual and her intense presence (as an actor) makes her so unique.

      I enjoy listening to her tremendously.
