I love Joe Biden. He is one of the last truly honest and decent men in politics or should I say one of the few. But he is a man that you can listen to and get something meaningful out of what he says because he is straightforward and honest. Because Obama chose such a strong Vice Presidential candidate, his position to the White House in my view is assured. That's how you win the game.
OLIVIA SPARREVOHN 10/20/2008 03:51 PM Report
This man Biden is one of my Heroes. I am 81 and have followed politics all of my life , with my parents and grandmother first, and now for many years as an adult. We had to wait until age 21 to vote when I became eligible. I was born in 1927.
Biden is one of my Heroes
Sincerely,

Joe Biden is an amazing public servant! From the time he began his career until now, he has been honest and hardworking, helping workers and families and making the rest of Washington tell the truth. I will be dancing in the streets when he is elected! How anyone can compare him to the liar, war monger, Dick Cheney, who I believe is instumental in telling Georgia to attack Russia and then goes over there and gives them $1 billion from our pockets, is beyond me. Joe Biden is about as different from Cheney as Obama is from Bush, the worst president and vice president in our history. They should be in jail just for the billions of dollars they've given to their cronies at Halliburton and other contractors as well as how they have destroyed the nations ecomony. Cheney shouldn't be mentioned in the same breath as long time ethical Joe Biden!

During the 2000 election, a great deal of mileage was gotten from the term "gravitas" and GWB's choice of the "older, wiser, etc." Cheney. Why has there not been that kind of discussion of Mr. Obama's choice? More specifically, "gravitas" was thrown about almost as though it had become a pejorative--and the situation is similar. In fact as a friend of mine would say, "it's more than similar." So, why is his choice of Biden not discussed in such a negative way--when Obama seems to have less experience and less "weight" than Bush ever had?
