I was disappointed that Charlie Rose did not follow up Michael Gordon's comment that Paul Bremer was responsible for the disbanding of the Republican Army and that Bush was not aware of the decision and therefore not responsible. Assuming that this was true, why did Charlie Rose not ask Michael Gordon, when did Bush learn about the disbanding. This is not something that happens overnight. Did Bush learn a day after, a week after, six months later etc.

In other words since this was supposedly in direct opposition to Bushâ??s previous order, when Bush did hear the news, was it not possible for him to overrule Bremer and change the order. Likewise when Bush did hear the news did he call Bremer on the phone and complain etc. Since Bush seemingly did nothing when he did hear the news, I suspect that when he was â??officiallyâ?? informed, it did not come as a surprise.

Mr. Gordon's remark that the decision to disband the Republican Army was not a decision discussed by the various elements of the Bush administration, and thus that President Bush - the implication seems to be by Mr. Gordon - and his inner circle were not responsible for this decision, is contradicted by Paul Bremer's Op-Ed in the New York Times today. If there was any doubt before, now there shouldn't be: figuring out "who is to blame" has begun.....

Twenty-five minutes into the interview and the topic of "oil-sharing" comes up. Has anyone on Charlie Rose ever gone into detail as to what this compromise would look like? And if they have, have they remarked how Iran and China might feel about this deal?

If you are looking for one of those journalists who didn't do their job before the Iraq war, here's your guy.
