I don't know why the US insists a non European country, Turkey, it is not a European country? Let them join the US... What is Charlie talking about? He reflected the arrogance of US foreign policy with Europe. Charlie was weak in that segment of the interview.

Also, interesting comments about immigrant integration in France. I remember those riots in France, the ones who burned that girl are scum, and it is gang violence. The apologists that claim that the rioters are "victims" use that to justify everything. The law must hit the scum hard including deportation of non French citizen law breakers. It will serve as a reminder that France despite its flaws is a great country to live in.

Would you please report the name of the interpreter you used for the voice-over broadcast. I found her work precise and effective, even though perhaps an equally skilled male interpreter would have been a tad less distracting. Her skills and work, nonetheless, were key to the success of this broadcast for a US television audience.

Thanks you for the good work!

One clarification. Near the end of the segment, when Sarkozy was asked why he was against the integration of Turkey in the EU on top of having commercial ties with it, he responded by asking why doesn't the USA integrate Mexico in its borders even though it has the ALENA with it. ALENA is French for NAFTA. The translator missed this and simply pronouced ALENA in English.

There are so many people able to speak French and English. Why was it that you could only find a feminine voice to represent Sarkozy? He is a man. Your use of reverse gender in the translated representation of his words did not go unnoticed. You have all the resources in the world to present truth to the best of your ability. This was your best? No it wasn't. Just another example of "public broadcasting" turned into "Government Broadcasting". It is so transparent and very, very sad.

Sarkozy is the classic angry optimist. Baggaged, in his mind forever with the classic Nixonian inferiority fact. Sarkozy is hopeful but always ill at ease. His visceral impatience is the classic trait leaders endure leading them to abuse of power. He is now leader we shall see....
