'IF I COULD BE ANYBODY IN THE WHOLE WORLD", I always say. "IT WOULD BE CHARLIE ROSE". His is the high art of 'conversation' with the great gift of humor.

NEVER am I bored. NEVER does he pander. I'm ALWAYS stimulated, ALWAYS facinated by the great multitude of topics, ALWAYS grateful for the pure luxury, of the time spent on each guest.

NOTICE THIS: He makes EVERYBODY laugh! Everybody! Once, when he was in Paris interviewing a very famous photographer - - and the photographer didn't speak English and I thinkk he was 95 years old or something like that - (and he sure didn't need this interview) -Charlie had him laughing in the first few minutes! "That's it", I said -"Charlie Rose is the finest communicator - a magician". You know what they said about the Greatful Dead - they aren't the best at what they do - their the ONLY ones who do whaat they do! That's Charlie.

I was compelled to write this 'love letter to Charlie' by the criticism I read, by chance, above. His interruptions ARE part of the conversation. He is ALWAYS facinated and totally involved by and with his guests. Maybe the folks who find him 'rude' could watch anybodyelseinthewholeboringworldofserious, politeinterviewersand be-bored-to-death!

      But not me!

Charlie Rose has a remarkable and stellar list of people on is show. Always very interesting, and of the highest calibre. It is most disconcerting to have to watch Charlie Rose interrupt his guests. It is actually infuriating.. He talks at the same time as they do.. I am sure this is deliberate, a "style" which he has adopted to make the conversation look natural. We wish he would not do that. Aside from the fact that it is atrociously rude.
