What is his comment on the contemporary world in this book.
Stephen Zimmett 07/03/2007 10:07 AM Report
I read the book The Looming Tower. I guess it took Lawrence Wright some 5 years to write this book. Impressive work. His interview with Charlie made me speechless. Wish it would have been an hour long program. Too bad the CIA andother so-called terrorist watch groups did not interview and learn from Lawrence about the difficulties in the country of Iraq.
Richard H. Putney 06/29/2007 03:26 PM Report
A tremendous interview with a very keen observer of contemporary Islam and America. I have just finished The Looming Tower, one of the most remarkble, informative, and engaging books I have read in many a year. I regret that, when asked what we as Americans might do to remedy aspects of the current very unfortunate situtation vis-a-vis international relations, Mr. Wright had time only to convey one of this three suggestions. Fascinating book, fascinating author, fascinating interview!

This is one of the most meaningful shows you have ever done. Without understanding the culture of those who hate us, there is no hope of finding a solution. Lawrence Wright seems to express a sincere caring for humanity. I am anxiously awaiting the release of this interview on DVD so that I can recapture his spirit when reading the book.
