Warren Beatty , in Splendid in the Grass, was

more than life! We cherished his look, act, and personality in 1960's & 1970's Movies in IRAN,under the Shah, when Cinemas were open & American movies were shown the same time as in the US, the GOOD OLD TIME; THE GOLDEN AREA OF IRAN.

In portraying John Reeds in Reds Warren beaty revealed a whole era and generation, their ideals their passion for something higher, more integrate than their personal selves,it awakens a sense of nostalgy, something's lacking in our lives, poetry maybe. Those generation were poets, that's why they got lost in the labyrinth of politics. We are more objective but we lack that sense of getting beyound ourselves.Beaty's character was cloes to Dostoyevskys heros,a lot of humanism, agitated and anxious, threatend by time, always aiming for higher and higher, losing the sense of oneself and in the end realizing one's defeat but with eyes gazed at a brighter future.Reeds death was sublime.

When you look at the movies Warren Beaty has made you cant help but be impressed with how good almost all of them still are. He has made such a great contribution. I saw "Bullworth" a week or so ago and laughed my head off at how true it all is even 10 years later. It would be great if other people made movies when they had something to say, not just money to make.

That was pathetic. Half, inane thoughts; completely self-absorbed.
