This interview with William Maxwell remains one of my favorites and I rewatch it periodically. What a gracious man. His comments about telling stories to his wife in bed are among the most romantic I have ever heard and, at the same time, say so much about the kind of marriage they had and how much he must have missed her after her death. I'm so happy you have this interview in the archives so that when I feel all civility has disappeared I can return to William Maxwell and be refreshed once more. It also keeps this good man alive in my heart.
