      Mr. Rose,

I'm always impressed with you ability to draw on your guests. I especially like this production and Mr. Franklin's comments on economics and the lack of social activism that was so important in the fabric of American culture.

Mr. Franklin mentioned the civil rights movement "failing to recognize the forces that are important, that will bring about change"...he also mentioned MLK's death and the impact it had because of the campaigns built around him. I remember the MLK's speech before his death that was a prelude to "the movements" economic campaign. Its has not been continued since that day.

Mr. Franklin also mentioned "change" and the state of the poor in America and lack in engagement they have. You two spoke about the relevance of Katrina and the New Orleans residents.....it has been obvious that this broad tragic event has not changed citizens activity. I'd love to hear him talk more specifically about what kind of event(s) would bring people to get engaged.....socially, economically, and politically.

I am honestly frightened by the passive culture of modern day America.
