      There sits the rightful heir of the Johnny Carson lineage. He should have had the chair following Carson -not Leno. There, we've said it. Like Leno, but it should have gone to Dave. Dave, you're as dry and smooth as a martini --keep on truckin'. Come back and chat some more --great chemistry between Charlie and Dave. Finally, I think Dave could actually do another final version of a new show: a Jack Parr-type, calmer, dry wit show that could be on PBS. Classy.

      this is great,there are so few interviews with letterman,and Charlie gets the best interview possible everytime.

      Definitely time for a follow up with Dave. So much has happend with his dialogues after 9/11 and ABC going after him before he signed his last contract and most of all, becoming a Dad. It would be another insightful hour.

      Thank you so much for posting this interview. I think David does such a great job on his show, and I have wanted to see this interview for a while. Charlie, it's been 11 years...Dave's due for a follow-up interview.
