This is a lovely little interview... Charlie & Simon discuss several aspects of Welles' early years including his time at a Boy's school where he mastered the craft of theatre while tormenting his schoolmates, Welles' heavy guilt over the death of his father from alcoholism, and the tension in the relationship between Welles and Houseman. In addition, there's a fascinating dialogue regarding Welles' interest in the "great man" and how that idea is expressed in Citizen Kane. Callow is a very expressive and articulate conversationalist, although he tends to dominate the interview and is perhaps a little long-winded with some of his responses. Nonetheless, it is engaging segment and well worth watching.
