I was a student at Cleveland Music School Settlement when Clive was director. What a great, great man. He always had kind and encouraging things to say to the students, and he attended many of the recitals. One thing in specific I remember was a comment he made to me and my brother after we had played a duet - he said, "you two make such a dynamic duo." As a kid, all I could think of was Batman. It was great to stumble onto this interview.

I worked with Clive in the mid-80s. Wonderful fellow. Cared about people. The story that appeared in the New York Times a few years later helps clarify his comments about "Shine". Just learned that he died in 2006. Sad. He died too young.
