Charlie could have explained the meaning of "epitaph" so as to slow down the flow of saliva. Anil goofs up badly when he says the operative mojo is "transparency". India's strength is not binary----democracy and spirituality. Add corruption. And you get the unbeatable Trinity that can milk the bulls till the cows come home.

It is very inspiring for someone in his league who has so much optimism for India. He is desperate (in a nice way) to see India make the world class progress. It is rare for successful entrepreneurs and businessmen from Indian origin committed to giving back most of their wealth back to the society. Anil is an exception.

I really liked Mr. Agarwal. He came across as a simple but resolute, and a spiritual man (well, his company's name, Vedanta, did hint towards his Vedanta inspired spirituality). He is right on when he says that religion has nothing to do with spirituality. You could see his trouble with the English language, but even with the limited language skills he managed to put across his thoughts on the great qualities of India and her people very well. Glad to have seen this interview.

India phenomenon is not a result of any great leader's or businessman's vision. It just happens to have right tools when everybody else in the west is looking for them. It certainly is good to see some of India's top businessmen taking initiative for the progress of people. I think India more than anything else is looking for a leader with a vision, who can define the direction of the future.
