Kolata seems like a genuinely friendly person, and it is refreshing to see someone like her representing a discipline that is so often mischaracterized as cold and sterile. However, she does seem somewhat coy regarding her own thoughts and beliefs on the topic of cloning. While she may well be subject to some personal disclosure policy with the New York Times, I suspect that her reluctance to be forthcoming is more likely due to her personality.
