I find Mr. Howard Blum very interesting and most of the stories he writes about does follow the stories we have heard about the mob and about the Gambino family. However, I do believe he does have two facts incorrect in his Gangland book. I am sure I am not the first person to pick this up. Mr. Blum says that Carlo Gambino's son was kidnapped but I believe it was his newphew that was take for ransom and killed. In early 1973, Gambino's nephew Emmanuel "Manny" Gambino was kidnapped James McBratney, "Crazy" Eddie Maloney, Warren "Chief" Schurman and Richie Chaisson.

The other incorrect fact I found was on the next page of Mr. Blum's book. Which states that Paul Castellano was Carlo's son in law which is not true he was Carlo's brother in law. Carlo Gambino married his cousin who happened to be Paul castellano's sister.

I feel there is only but so much liberty an author can take when writing a book and facts in history should not be one of them.
