Ruslan 07/07/2007 03:26 PM Report
"Russia's wrong direction..." And then you expect the world to support American version of democracy? Clearly, your politicians are complete imbeciles. How can an average American citizen be angry or frustrated at the world community hating the United States after your elected senators release reports like this? If you have never traveled extensively, then I can assure you that the international community is absolutely baffled at the cultural retardation of the US politicians. The US is NOT the center of the world and clearly, your policies and understandings are not the ultimate authority on right or wrong. Edwards is either a puppet or is an attention whore who clearly knows nothing about Russia. "The average life of a Russian citizen is significantly better because of the rise of the GDP..." Statements like this go to show that he has never even spoken to a signle Russian citizen. "Russians, including Putin are schizophrenic in many ways..." I don't give a shit what you meant to say, the immediate reaction of a statement like this should be obvious. "The corruption in Russia is worst than its ever been..." If you spoke with any of the 95% of the Russian citizens, they would laugh at you and call you an "American" for saying that. Edwards redicules the state of democracy in Russia, while your elections are still determined by a group of judges. "We talked with a Russian businessmen..." Why don't you stop talking to the extremely wealthy businessmen who made their money with corruption and privatization during the Yeltsin years and start talking with some normal Russian people. I am a businessman in Russia and have legitimately become quite wealthy since 1999 in legitimate international operations. I do not fear for my safety or the government taking my money. NO Russian businessmen are afraid of the government taking their wealth. Those who have abused the corruption during the Yeltsin years are the ones who are afraid. Are your politicians really this ignorant? What ticks me off the most is that many of your academics in Russian studies (who actually have field knowledge of Russia), the likes of Stephen Cohen, have it mostly right, but the politicians don't seem to give a shit. They read their own reports about Russia compiled by other politicians and think they understand the issues.
