Charlie Rose knows nothing about Sophia Loren's career. He should actually ask questions instead of playing these guessing games by making up statements and saying them in a tone that sounds like a question. Also, Sophia is lying about Marcello Mastroianni's funeral. The funeral in Paris (that she did not go to) was indeed the *real* funeral -- his casket was present. Catherine Deneuve and her daughter with Mastroianni were at that funeral. It was the only real funeral.

The most beautiful, talented actor --what a magical interview. They flirt, she cries, it's so tender. Charlie is at his best when he's a little in awe. :)

Charlie,
Way back when I recorded this interview on VHS!!
This is my favorite interview of all time!! When I want to introduce you to my friends this interview with Sophia Loren is the one I share with them. I wish all journalists had your grace, concern, and integrity. When your question made her cry and your camara immediately went off Miss Sophia and you apologized for causing her discomfort, this simple human courtesy is something ALL other media have "forgotten" or simply, ignore.
I wish every high school or college student would watch this show if only to see simple human decency and how conversation should work.
Also, I very much enjoyed Miss Loren speaking of her Mother, and family, and cooking!! She could have been a member of our families here in the Midwest, USA. (where everything in the family is centered around the kitchen, and cooking, and sharing recipes with our families)
