A conversation with the co-chairmen of the 9/11 Commission, Thomas Kean, the former Governor of New Jersey, and Lee Hamilton, a former congressman from Indiana, about their book, "Without Precedent: The Inside Story of the 9/11 Commission". The pair discuss their experience leading the Iraq Study Group and the difficulties they faced in soliciting information from the government and their assessment of U.S. security.

      Hamilton is wasting everyone's time by his useless (read the commission's report for evidence of naive thinking), remedies to resolve the world's problems. How can anyone believe for one moment there is any comparison between the former Soviet Union AND present day Iran? The Cuban Missile crisis was a hair breath away from resulting in both regimes obliterated. Both the US and Russia's leadership understood that Cuba isn't worth it and backed off. Iran has no such sword hanging over it. No one, especially the US is going to retaliate for 2-4 mushroom clouds over our allies, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan.

      Iran is building long range missiles..able to hit the Eastern US, and most of Europe, as well as our fleets in the Persian Gulf etc. They have said they intend to "Wipe Israel off the map". I for one believe it. Hitler said the same thing and almost accomplished his goes of a "Judenrein" (no Jews) planet. Hamilton says there are 3 alternatives to Iran's nuclear ambitions: diplomacy, military option, do nothing and pray. Well, prayer won't work, diplomacy has been tried for years and has failed (does an envoy like Jimmy Carter going to Iran lessen the danger?)..only the military option can succeed (despite Hamilton's pessimism). Bunker busters/and or tactical nukes will TAKE OUT IRAN'S NUKE SITES within minutes. We, the USA have over 70,000 nuclear warheads..Israel has 400. Just 10 will do the job and set Iran back decades. That is how you deal with Iran, NOT listening to Baker-Hamilton and Jimmy Carter. Iran will not be satisfied with taking out Saudi Arabia-Israel-Jordan, they want New York, Los Angeles, Miami, Chicago and Washington D.D. This is the message we should send Iran's mullahs: comply with those 3 UNSC resolutions at once, or else face the music.
