Do not let your imagination run wild. I imagine you have this sharp pointy head, a tight ass, hidden under 350 lbs fat, mostly packed in between your ears, and you are so affraid of getting a ticket that you no doubt drive while constantly staring at your speedometer vs. your rear view mirror. Better answer you cell phone and if it does not ring then check your text messages... Dopey

RE Comment by SWA7D on Thursday, Jun 5 at 02:59 AM: "Oh my gosh. We have just been totally enlightened by Snow White And her 7 Dwarfs... What is with you mo fo liberals this month? ... If you are so dang brilliant why don't you put your fat heads together and...talk talk talk..." -- And he's got such a high articulation with which he expresses himself *so perfectly* that you can actually accurately imagine what he looks like. (Protruding occipital ridge, prognathic jaw, predominatly anencephalic, barely bipedal, generally inebriated, knuckle-dragging, atavistic, latent-speciated neanderthal -- and with all due respect to white people, we know he's AN ANGRY *WHITE* MALE, one marriage/girlfriend break-up and employment-termination away from shooting up, in mass murder, anything that moves in his workplace. And in the meantime he always politically votes *against* his socio-economic interests in order to keep "tha nigras" and "Mex'cans" down, and always votes *for* war because he always loves bombing them little yellow, brown or swarthy people in 'pajamas' and sandals.) He must have just pulled himself up from his drunken stupor, in his 'wife-beater' undershirt and 3-day underwear, to go vomit in the bathroom and, afterwards, inexplicably tripped across this comment page while looking for giantjugs.com in the middle of the night. ___Joseph Anderson

Oh my gosh. We have just been totally enlightened by Snow White And her 7 Dwarfs... who obviously have all the answers (or do they only have all the complaints?) to how the world works, why the sky is falling over the USA and how yet another Charlie Rose guest has no clue. What is with you mo fo liberals this month? If you are so dang brilliant why don't you put your fat heads together and solve the global warming myth, wipe terrorism clean with your talk talk talk, fix every company on the planet so they employ you all at a wage that you like, figure out how to cure cancer, help Hillary purchase universal health care for the entire planet, feed the world, convert all the cars to battery drive and get a life.

This interview had no substance. Charlie Rose pretends, that he cannot even pronounce Iran. George cannot help either. Simple how do you pronounce Italy in America? Mr. Charlie Rose, please bring a better quality guest. I watch most of your shows.

Isn't it interesting that we are trying to "spread democracy" in Iraq and we can't even acknowledge the actual popular vote in our own democratic primary. Of course fact and truth are so often at odds with each other.

The trouble with George Will is George Will. Its obvious he is aware of his importance by his constant display of his self-importance. He is a pompous ass.

    7. Marjorie Sunderman  06/04/2008 03:47 AM Report

I can hardly believe the way greed has blinded the eyes of George Wills, I don't doubt that he is sitting back in the lap of luxury heaping scorn on the people who haven't been able to pull themselves up by their boot straps. If you old boys persist in the greedy nasty rich folks hoarding wealth and robbing the poor, God in her infinite wisdom will give us another great depression and all you old boys will be looking for a window to jump out of rather than sell pencils on the street. None of you will escape reaping what you sow. And by the way, Hillary probably has 50 more points of IQ than you. I am a little surprised at what a stupid little man you are.

I find it so hard to believe that any one listens to George Will discuss anything other than the game of baseball. His willful ignorance of the world is staggering and dangerous. Regard cautiously his cheer leading hubris for the invasion of Iraq. This interview is an insult to intelligent and gracious people everywhere.

Hell, he still ascribes the fall of the Soviet Union to the addled Mr. Reagan. He's just a partisan revisionist trying to make the work of future historians challenging. I rest assured that they will see the lack of worth in everything he's written since the election of Jimmy Carter.

Clue for you, Mr. Will. Americans are nervous because they now understand, having digested the lessons of 9.11, that ungracious choices invite instructive consequences. Our political and business leaders have made nothing but ungracious choices over the last 8 years.

    9. Eduardo  06/04/2008 12:41 AM Report

Does this man George have not a whit of humor?

Does his intestinal tract have an self-inflicted obstruction?

How else could a person be so tight lipped and devoid of compassion?

    10. Mark   06/04/2008 12:06 AM Report

What Mr. Will and many others that are supposedly paying attention to the leading economic indicators are missing is this-you are all misreading the indicators because you are reading the corporate indicators and the indicators from Wall St...While corporate America is doing well enough to just stave off recession, the families of America are suffering as there is less and less Americans benefiting from the corporate successes. U.S. family incomes have simply not kept pace with inflation; the costs of living have outpaced income growth; the costs of health care alone rises at an alarming rate; the cost of food; the costs of energy and other household bills have risen horribly over the last few years.

Mr. Will had better wake up and realize that he is now living in the Asian Century...the American century has past as more and more American corporations offshore their operations-at first it was manufacturing, and more and more they are offshoring middle-class white collar jobs, especially in the accounting and manufacturing sectors...in the Flat World it is not a race for the bottom, it is a flattening of the rates of pay and cost of services to a point wherein there will soon be one agreed upon price for all rates of pay and services in a global market and if your costs of doing business do not allow you to compete in the world market, you will be soon ou of business...it's not just a corporate issue, it is a state and federal issue; if my business cnnot operate at at the same level of low costs as my offshore competitors, I will lose...and in America it is simply too costly to be in most forms of business right now...it's like Friedman says " no one is telling the kids" ...but the kids know now...and yet people like Will seemingly are either ignorant or too slow to read the stitches on the fastball that is coming right for the head of the American middle-class. The flattening of the world, the one-world-cost for all good and services will eliminate most of the US middle class within 20 years as the middle class moves East...If you are in the manufacturing sectors, you know what I'm saying; if you are not, start reading the manufacturing trade papers and blogs.

What I find stunning is that people as smart as George Will cannot see that wealth is rapidly moving from the west to the east...You are living in the Asian century...Deal with it, prosper in it, revel in it. For Will to suggest that we are on the cusp of 'another American Century' is specious at best. Get your boots on the ground, visit manufacturing sites, visit middle-class families, learn what families see as happening in the American economy, not what the corporate balance sheets are telling you, because one side has nothing to do with the other.

If you want an example, ask a Carolinian(Charlie?) about the death of the textile industries...While the companies are all doing fine and propsering, they offshored all the middle-class jobs in the 70's and 80's and many a town in Carolina never recovered from that business model and while it won't happen overnight, it will happen in your town and when it does, don't say Freidman and others didn't warn you.

I think that much of what Mr. Will was then certain about has been turned on its head since the interview.
