      Mr. Mills;

      A civilization that's had it's day? The humiliation belongs to those that can somehow morally or otherwise justify an act of utter cowardice, inhumanity, and unspeakable evil. Your suggestion that Americans should be chastised by way of mass murder, or that Americans should see this tragedy as some form punishment for it's culture is particularly ignorant. Your suggestion that a terrorist act claiming innocent lives might be construed as a lesson or reminder of American culture's "flaws" is evidence of an arrogance far beyond what you mistakenly identify as American invincibility. What you misdiagnosed as invincibility we call pride.

      It's simply pathologically absurd to justify an act of epic immorality as a morality lesson.

    2. Berne Mills  06/07/2007 12:34 AM Report

      The memory of 9/11 should serve as wake up call that America cannot to believe that they are invincible and that they are not always right. The book by Barry Lando, "Web of Deceit" depicts Americans as cheats and liars that will do anything to make a buck. Perhaps they are civiliztion that as had their day, perhaps they will remember 9/11 and be a little more humble.
