Hi my name is Phyllis White I work with the Lakewoood (CDC)Community Development Corporation here in Charlotte, NC. I would like to know how can I get in touch with Dr. Ben Carson. Here in our Low Class Community I work hard every day for a little of nothing because this in a None Profit Organization. The funding is runing our as I type, but befor I get laid off October 31, 2008 I have to give this a shot, in trying to reach Dr. Ben Carsonto see if he can visit our Community and meet with some of our Residents. As you hear we do not have any money to pay him, but hoping his heart is just that big and kind to do this for free, the Lord will make sure he be rewarded very well over time.My job maybe ending and my family may hurt a while, but that still will not stop me from reaching out to help others. We all as Community leaders work hard every day trying to make a diffrence for the ones that live here. We are even more focus on our young teens here in the Community, because they are our future and we are their tomorrow. I hope to hear from you soon, if so you can reach me by email phyllis@lakewood-cdc.org, if no longer working after October 31, 2008 you can still reach me at shorty4509@hotmail.com, or 704.369.2603. Thank you so very much for taking the time to read what I have to say, that means a lot. Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks

Charlie, what a touching and heartbreaking close to your tribute to William F. Buckley. It only reinforces how short and precious life is in the grand scheme of things. I will forever now think of sailing as a metaphor for living life and missing opportunities. As much as my heart ached to see you grieve, life without a source to reach a person's soul that deeply, is a shallow existence. You Charlie, have a good soul.

Only you could make someone with my political leanings weep for Bill Buckley. I think I saw your heart break in those last syllables tonight. I was also one of those kids who grew up with Firing Line on as the backdrop with a very conservative family I rebelled against at every possible opportunity. His columns made me ill but I secretly followed them nonetheless. I recognized him as a significant intellectual and admired his patrician gentility and keen insights. Thank you for your extremely thoughtful tribute and for sharing your humanity. I wish you had gone sailing....My condolences.

I recently stumbled across a book (Think Big) by Dr. Ben Carson. And needless to say, became very inspired by everything that he's done, overcame, and accomplished thusfar in his life. I am a second year student at Longwood University, and I searched youtube yesterday for Dr. Ben Carson and I found this video. It didn't work on youtube, so I came to the Charlie Rose website. Yesterday was my first time ever hearing of the show. Mr. Rose, I think what you've done, and what you do on the show is amazing, and I wish you the best with anything you do in the future as well. Thank you
Sincerely,
JGreene
