I would like to know why Mr Brill feels that single-payer would not be practical other than the facts that there is no policial will and that there are many healthcare players who are opposed to it. I would contend that Expanded and Improved Medicare for All (H.R. 676) would be the fiscally and the socially responsible (and practical) solution to our nation's healthcare challenges.

I would also suggest that costs are so high in large part because of the private for-profit healthcare insurance industry. Providers and payors negotiate (usually annually) for discounts which can be as much as 70%. When such discounts are negotiated the provider must artificially increase fees in order to absorb these discounts.

Has Mr Brill seen H.R. 676? I would suggest that he further his research by going to pnhp.org or healthcare-now.org or mforall.org or terryflowersblog.wordpress.com.

      Thank you ~
