I just watched the interview & I found both Mr. Zacjarua and Mr.Rose articulate and knowledgable. After studying U.S. History and Law I have learned a lot about how and why governments remain in power. U.S. has only had power for a drop of time compared to many other countries - When both men suggest that the U.S. demonstrate their resolve by reducing nuclear weapons, I wonder about their naivete.

Do they truly think China, Russia, North Korea, Iran, etc. will respect America for reducing nuclear weapons, or take advantage of America's newly created weakness. The difference between the U.S. and other countries is that we have proven our moderation and restraint. They have proven the opposite. How the great will be toppled and the world brought back to the ancient times, still seen in the middle east and asia today. Also, the comments about a few military who did horrible things as the view of America. Where is your loyalty? Why not point to the difficulties in this unprecedented war - remember the rules of war have not been followed by them not us. Why act as though a few failures of America to meet each challenge perfectly are the majority?. If I remember those soldiers who abused the prisoners were punished. It wasn't an American policy to do what they did.

Our juris prudence system is deciding what do to with enemy combatants.

Also, Jimmy Carter and Hammas! It is our U.S. policy not to deal with terrorists. Why undermine such an important distinction in war fare and diplomatic foreign policy? America is not perfect, but we do not need to bend to every whim of another nation to show we are fair.

Also, we are damned by supporting NATO or the UN and damned if we don't. Zakaria and Rose, are two intelligent men who turned well thought out positions to point against the nation. U.S, can only stand if it is militarily and politically strong. The "can't we all just get along" rhetoric is for the feel good people who don't truly understand that other countries would love to rule the world and enjoy watching the U.S. emplode. Many of the statements during this interview, unfortunately, were akin to Rosie O'Donnel 911 American conspiracy theory.

It is not the U.S. fault that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction - recognized since the late 1980's by the UN Security Council. It is not the U.S.'s fault that the UN as usual did nothing but send threatening letters. It is not the U.S.'s fault that the UNSC could not agree to take action on account of Russia and Japan, and that after 911 the U.S. had to take action because Iraq forced their hand. Please, please, don't compliment the troops, and critize the President. United we stand, or.....

Finally, what ever money China, or any third world country makes, does not equate to transforming their governments into humane, democratic, libertarians. The money will not trickly down. The governments will not change simply because they have funds. You both spoke a lot of truth, but too much fantasy.

I am afraid that the main points the general public heard was the anti- current government comments. And that is too bad. Overall George Bush, Ms. Rice and many other government representives will be shown to have saved America at a time it was so weak it simply gave into party politics.
