While listening to Ms Albright one started to have an ebullient feeling about how intelligent, thoughtful, insightful, and perceptive President Obama is. Then one thought about Ms Albright being the Queen of Diamonds and the spell dissipated like a mist, as one realized that those kindest, gentlest, most wonderful human being thoughts and feelings were Ms Albrights perceptions and not ones own.
Then one started to muse about what brings an otherwise rational person to have such clouded perceptions about someone like President Obama? The answer lies in the fact that President Obama spent several years during his childhood living outside of America. This gives him an alternative, outsiders view of American values and culture. To Ms Albright and Liberals in general this detachemnt from American values gives him an aura of being a transcendent figure from conventional American thinking and attitudes. While conversely the American Right has the same perception but from a different perspective and that is that they think of him as being foreign born. Ricardo: Limpopo, Brazil should distance itself from Israel like the plague for obvious reasons – we don't want Brazil also to become another serf of Israel like the United States has became in the last 40 years.
Americans lost their capability of thinking otherwise how one can explain the massive influence that a little country such as Israel with about 7 million people, and a country that not even existed 60 years ago, it was able to secured complete control of US foreign policy for the last 40 years.

Regarding Libya
When Muammar Gaddafi was in power in Libya, the population of Libya was around 6.5 million people.
In 2012 the US government estimated that Libya has about 5,613,380 (July 2012 est.) people.
The Libyan population has been reduced by 900,000 people in a period of less than one year. It is estimated that around 500,000 Libyans fled the country to other countries in Africa and Europe.
What happened to the other 400,000 Libyans?
Libya under the leadership of Gaddafi provided to the Libyan people the highest standard of living of any country in the African Continent, and Libya had the best infrastructure of any country in Africa.
In a matter of months Libya went from being the model country in the Africa Continent regarding its infrastructure social programs, and a very well run economy with almost no debt – the US and its NATO allies destroyed the entire Libyan infrastructure that had taken decades to built it and turned Libya into a waste land and complete chaos.
Nobody really knows how many people died in the Libyan holocaust caused by the NATO allies and today you the mainstream media does not even mention Libya on the news, because that entire country is in complete chaos, with various criminal gangs killing people around the country and nobody really in charge of anything.
Today Libya is a wasteland with no government, infrastructure and a society that had a total collapse.
And the Clueless American people are surprised that 4 Americans were killed in Benghazi on September 11, 2012.

SouthAmerica: Libya under the leadership of Gaddafi provided to the Libyan people the highest standard of living of any country in the African Continent – and the Gaddafi government gave the Libyan people from free education, free healthcare, free medicines, and all kinds of other benefits.
Under Gaddafi Libya had a very prosperous economy, and Gaddafi invested a lot of money creating a first rate social, economic and physical infrastructure in Libya.
Libya had no external debt and its Central Bank reserves amount to $150 billion – now frozen globally. And just God knows if the Libyans are going to ever see that money again.
Gaddafi was an enlightened ruler who took excellent care of his people.
After NATO, destroyed the entire infrastructure of Libya, and turned that country into a black hole – today there is only misery, famine, destruction, and chaos all over the country with the compliments of NATO and its gang of criminal allies.
Today nobody is safe inside Libya with all kinds of criminal gangs creating chaos to the Libyan people and thousands of people are assassinated by these gangs and the international media and the United Nations don't even care about the chaos that they created in Libya.
And now NATO and its criminal allies want to replicate the Libyan destruction also in Syria.

In January 2004 I posted this information on the Elite Trader Economics forum regarding Emmanuel Todd's book: “After the Empire - The Breakdown of the American Order” as follows:
July 26, 2003
The Conceited Empire
A historian credited with predicting the downfall of the Soviet Union in the 1970s now says that the US has been on its way out for the last decade
The power and influence of the United States is being overestimated, claims French historian and demographer Emmanuel Todd. "There will be no American Empire." "The world is too large and dynamic to be controlled by one power." According to Todd, whose 1976 book predicted the fall of the Soviet Union, there is no question: the decline of America the Superpower has already begun.
Emmanuel Todd compares the US to 16th century Spain, arguing that US economic power is being undermined by the decline of its industrial base and its increased dependence on other countries to feed its consumption.
Mr. Todd, wrote that America is economically, militarily, and ideologically too weak to actually control the world.
The US is still the most powerful nation in the world today, but there are many indicators that they are about to relinquish their position as solitary superpower. He said: “In my 1976 book, La chute finale (Before the Fall: The End of Soviet Domination), I based my prediction of the fall of the Soviet Union on the relevant indicators of the time. An analysis of current demographic, cultural, military, economic, and ideological factors leads me to conclude that the remaining pole of the former bipolar world order will not remain alone in its position. The world has become too large and complex to accept the predominance of one power. There will not be an American Empire.
The American hegemony from the end of WW II into the late 1980s in military, economic, and ideological terms definitely had imperial qualities. In 1945 fully half the manufactured goods in the world originated in the US. And although there was a Communist-bloc in Eurasia, East Germany, and North Korea, the strong American military, the navy and air force, exercised strategic control over the rest of the globe, with the support and understanding of many allies, whose common goal was the fight against communism. Although communism had some dispersed support among intellectuals, workers, and peasant groups, the power and influence of the US was by and large with the agreement of a majority throughout the world. It was a benevolent empire. The Marshall Plan was an exemplary political and economic strategy. America was, for decades, a 'good' superpower.
It has, above all, become a weak one. The US no longer has the might to control the large strategic players, primarily Germany and Japan. Their industrial capacity is clearly smaller than that of Europe and approximately equal to that of Japan. With twice the population, this is no great accomplishment.
Their military potential is nevertheless still the largest by far, but is declining and consistently over estimated. The use of military bases is dependent on the good will of their allies, many of which are not as willing as before.
The theatrical military activism against inconsequential rogue states that we are currently witnessing plays out against this backdrop. It is a sign of weakness, not of strength. But weakness makes for unpredictability. The US is about to become a problem for the world, where we have previously been accustomed to seeing a solution in them.
*****
Another interview with Emmanuel Todd regarding his book.
This interview was the subject of some discussion at Metafilter.com.
In a Nutshell:
The US leadership doesn't know anymore where to turn. They know that they are monetarily dependent on the rest of the world, and they are afraid of becoming inconsequential. There are no more Nazis and Communists. While a demographic, democratic, and politically stabilizing world recognizes that it is increasingly less dependent on the US, America is discovering that it is increasingly dependent on the rest of the world. That is the reason for the rush into military action and adventures. It is classic.
Classic?
The only remaining superiority is military. This is classic for a crumbling system. The final glory is militarism. The fall of the Soviet Union took place in an identical context. Their economy was in decline, and their leadership grew fearful. Their military apparatus gained in size and stature and the Russians embarked on adventures to forget their economic shortcomings. The parallels in the US are obvious. The process has significantly accelerated in the past few months.
...One of the working propositions of my book, After the Empire is that the concept of military control of the globe no longer makes any sense. In relation to the military, there will be a balance of power in the future. There is still a nuclear balance of power between the US and Russia. The notion that sections of the globe can be controlled through military might is passé, because it is unrealistic.
You can destroy regimes and bomb their infrastructure, as the Americans have done in Afghanistan, but the populations -- including those in the developing world -- have become educated and literate enough to eliminate any possibility of re-colonization. The only power that ultimately counts today is economic power.
...Most apparent is how clumsy the US has been to date, and how far they have moved away from any notion of universality. They don't see the world as it really is anymore. They are failing in any balanced and fair approach to their allies. All of this reminds me of Germany under Wilhelm II. The US is losing allies steadily. One gets the impression that an office somewhere in Washington has been tasked with the duty to daily prepare a scheme to develop new enemies for the US.

The United States Economy
Wall Street corporations were designed for the sole purpose of making profits, and they are in the money business - of making a lot of money or losing a ton of it. As the dot.com meltdown of 2000, and the stock market crash of 2008 have shown us, Wall Street is more in tune with losing trillions of US dollars with their gambling schemes and all kinds of financial shenanigans, than anything else.
And they are also capable of not only losing trillions of US dollars from investors from around the world, but also the pension nest eggs of American workers built over a long period of time. And trillions of US dollars have gone up in smoke almost overnight during every stock market meltdown we had such as in 2000, and in 2008; resulting in a real pension nightmare in the coming years for U.S. retirees and to retirees of other countries as well.
The U.S. economy is in deep trouble and dying a slow death with no hope for meaningful change in sight. The current US economic and government system is heavily influenced by powerful lobbying groups that want to keep the status quo going and their self-serving agendas in place, and making it almost impossible for the system to change and adapt to the new economic circumstances.
And some corporations such as Goldman Sachs have infiltrated the US government at the highest levels with their network of former Goldman Sachs executives in an effort to influence US government policies on behalf of the financial and banking industry and their financial games.
I just read the book "It Takes a Pillage - Behind the Bailouts, Bonuses, and Backroom Deals from Washington to Wall Street" by Nomi Prins, a book published in October 2009. The book explains in detail the demise and complete destruction of the US economy by the power brokers of Wall Street.
After reading this book you finally will understand why the new generations of Americans don't have any future and how Wall Street stole their future and wasted the money to the tune of trillions of US dollars. The author gives an outstanding explanation and detailed information about what happened in the US financial markets that ended up in a global financial meltdown.
After reading this book you will have a much better understanding about what is going on with the US economy today, how we got to this point and the massive trouble that lies ahead of us.
Basically there is only one conclusion for this massive financial mess made in the USA, and the year 2008 marks the end of an era, and the capitalist brand of America.
Nomi Prins is a former managing director at Goldman Sachs, and her book exposes the corruption in Washington and Wall Street. Her articles are published in Fortune magazine, the Nation, Mother Jones, and other publications. And her latest book has become an important source of information about the corruption in Washington and its connection to Wall Street.
The book shows how the revolving door between Wall Street and Washington enabled and encouraged the disastrous behavior of large investment banks. You'll meet the Pillage People: the men who funneled trillions of dollars directly to the banks and the executives whose companies drained the American economy.
And if you don't believe me that the US economic system is in deep trouble and beyond repair, then you don't need to look any further than what has transpired in the United States since the financial meltdown of 2008. The US financial system ended up in intensive care, and almost died a quick death. And what has happened in the United States since then regarding any efforts by Congress to try to fix the problems that caused the collapse of the US and global financial system in 2008?
As usual, Americans learned nothing from these past fiascos, and if anything the problems are becoming even bigger today with much bigger surviving financial institutions that are fighting very hard against any government regulation of their business, and they use their powerful lobbying connections to fight very hard to keep things as they were before the last financial meltdown.
How dumb can you be? And next time, when the coming collapse and financial meltdown become a reality once again, then the safety net of the US government won't be there. This time around Wall Street has exhausted the financial resources of the United States.
Remember, since the Wall Street bailouts of 2008, the scoundrels of Wall Street have consistently been milking all the US government resources to the bone, and they also have been putting in place a structure for another major US government bailout of Wall Street in the future - for US taxpayers to pay for the bets that went sour for Wall Street.
When it comes to forms of corruption, in Brazil they still have a crude and old system and they use terms that include: bribery, extortion, cronyism, nepotism, patronage, graft, and embezzlement. In contrast, the United States has a much more polished and sophisticated corruption system called lobbying. And the American lobbying system works in a very efficient way by buying favors directly from the politicians through campaign contributions.
US Economic and Financial System Is Incapable of Meaningful Change
Let me give you another major example that would explain why the US economic and financial system is doomed, and incapable of meaningful change.

http://spengler.atimes.net/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=18814
The world is changing faster than you think, and there is nothing you can do about it on your efforts to try to keep things as they were in the past.
Most countries around the world realized that there are more important things around the world related to the future such as India and China with almost 2.5 billion people than little Israel with 7 million people.
The reality is: Israel with 7 million people is immaterial and irrelevant in a global population of 7 and very soon 8 billion people.
The world don't revolve around Israel and its never ending troubles.
As the economic and financial power moves from Europe and the United States to the Asian countries – All the leverage that Israel has had in the last 60 years becomes completely irrelevant, and obsolete on this new world of the 21st century.
That's a fact!!!!!!!!
It's crazy for the United States to continue to give Israel all kinds of support as the United States has been giving in the last 60 years.
The world has changed in drastic ways, and even the United States is becoming a former superpower faster than most people has realized.
*****
How the United States let this happen?
China, the Russians are just watching the relation between Israel with the United States work completely against the self-interest of the United States as a country.
And few Americans have the courage to bring this subject up.
What is even more amazing is that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu despise the American politicians, and think that they are a bunch of idiots.
For the first time in world history, a supposed superpower let a little country that did not even existed 60 years ago manipulate its political system in a mind-boggling way.
The neurotic, and paranoid Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu comes to Washington and is giving the chance to addresses the US congress – a group of people that he has little regard for.
When “AIPAC” has its annual event, a large number of Congressmen, Senators, and members of the current administration shows up to that event to pay homage to their masters.
The irony of this annual fiasco is:
When the neurotic, paranoid and insane Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is around his people in Israel then he shows his contempt for American politicians and the US political system. Here is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu showing his true colors – At a point in the middle of the video Netanayhu asks the camera man to stop taping, but he continues...
Netanyahu says what he really thinks for the first time:
He brags about how easy is to manipulate the USA and he proudly explains how he sabotaged the Oslo process.

I got tired of the news about Israel during the 1970's, by the 1980's I was saturated about the problems with Israel in the Middle East, since the 1990's like most Americans I don't give a sh.t about that massive mess in the Middle East.
During the last 40 years the United States has been doing a wonderful job regarding the Middle East problems culminating with its latest adventures in that part of the world.
Now “Operation Clueless or Gulf War III” it has been underway.
The United States likes to give cute names for its military adventures around the world such as “Operation: Desert Storm or Gulf War I” in 1990 – 1991. Then came "Operation Iraqi Freedom or Gulf War II” in 2003 – 2012. And now “Operation Clueless or Gulf War III” it has been underway.
The name "Operation Clueless" is very important in this case, because it defines what the United States is trying to accomplish in the Middle East.
The name “Operation Clueless” is also important, because when you don't have a clue about what you are doing any result it will be O.K.
But to be fair I have to say that “Operation Clueless” is not really a new operation, since the US has been running “Operation Clueless” for decades in the Middle East, and we have plenty of evidence to back up the United States accomplishments in that area of the world - “Operation Clueless” has been a great success and the United States could not mess up the entire Middle East and now the North of Africa even if the United States had tried harder.

SouthAmerica: Here is some information that I had posted on the web in 2012 about “Operation Clueless” - plus some new updates as follows:
September 5, 2012
SouthAmerica: Now “Operation Clueless or Gulf War III” it has been underway.

SouthAmerica: All the United States can do right now it is to continue on the same path of its very successful “Operation Clueless” and hope for the best as the Middle East and North Africa spins completely out of control.
If the ultimate goal was to destabilize and create chaos in the entire Middle East and in North Africa, then the United States could not have done a better job - and “Operation Clueless” has been a great success.

SouthAmerica: NATO strategy is right on schedule – next move the UN “No-fly zone BS” or the excuse they need to bomb a hell of Syria like they did in Libya.
NATO and its partners bring in fighters from other countries to destabilize and star the massive mess.
It is just a matter of time for the “regime change” fever to arrive in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, and UAE.
Now that Turkey has officially entered the great war of the Middle East and Iraq is spinning out control, Turkey becomes also a target to all kinds of foreign fighters that are coming to the Middle East to wage the big war.
Since Qatar and Saudi Arabia are helping to finance the foreign fighters to destabilize Syria, that works both ways, and the Syrians have the right to retaliate and star destabilizing these countries that have already started a war against Syria.
The snow ball is getting bigger....

SouthAmerica: Here is some updates about “Operation Clueless” and what the US and NATO are accomplishing in the Middle East, and in North Africa.
Pepe Escobar: Shadow wars & no interventions - US plan for MidEast & Asia – January 28, 2013

A great collaboration over the last four years. That's how US President Barack Obama described his first term in office with Hillary Clinton - who's now leaving the post of Secretary of State. Both appeared in a joint televised interview, as America's top diplomat prepares to step down. Responding to the Obama-Clinton talk, Asia Times correspondent Pepe Escobar says the destabilization of North Africa will only get worse.

Syrian public ready to liquidate militants: Webster Tarpley – January 27, 2013
http://youtu.be/MlpllxznuVA
An analyst says, to Washington's dismay, Syrian populations living amongst armed rebel occupation are banning together to drive out the occupiers. In the background of this a video has surfaced online showing civilians, loyal to the Syrian government, being killed by western-backed rebels and in one case being buried alive. Observers say the Syrian people are fully aware now that Western and Arab Gulf country death squads and armed forces do not plan to bring any type of democracy or freedom to the country and the vast majority of the population have rallied behind President Assad. At the same time, rebel forces have not been able to secure and hold any provincial towns inside Syria, only small areas of occupation, and all reports indicate the Syrian government army has decimated rebel group numbers and that there is now a confident call by the government for Syrian families that have been displaced to return home.
Press TV has interviewed author and historian Dr. Webster Griffin Tarpley to further discuss the issue.

"President Obama has offered a lot of solutions"
Really, Ms. Albright??? ..has this President and his party partners offered even ONE successful budget????
How can ANY nation display your desired "mantle of competency" -- if it can not get even CLOSE to managing its own pocketbook??

Our world is suffering not just a depression of economy, ..but also of honesty, discussion, and responsibility.
This President shot the albatross with his '08 declaration that "I have come to take people's money!"
When will he admit he did wrong??

she claimed she didn't know she was Jewish until a few years ago. I find this totaly unbelievable. The question is, why would she lie about this?

Yielding Czechoslovakia could be seen as a blunder AFTER the war started, but it was not so clear beforehand, particularly to those not very fond of Stalin, and don't forget that very moral Mr Wilson sold the Germans down the river in 1918, before the armistice, and again at Versailles, while Britain sold the French down the river first when they went back on gold at an inflated rate, and again during the Depression went it summarily went off gold, and this surely had impact on developments in Germany and Austria. WWII can't all be blamed on National Socialism, and even Churchill admired Chamberlain. Speaking of that, I think diplomats around the globe will be surprised to learn that foreign policy is only about getting others to change THEIR behavior. And from, what I've heard, Havel is reviled today for his fiscal mismanagement of the country. I think Mme Albright will be remembered mostly for dancing to the Macarena, but why bring a sturdy Democrat on the program and harangue her about Syria?
