In response to NeilMacCallister; Everyone is entitled to their opinion but no one is entitled to purposely misquote what another has said, in efforts to promote their own viewpoint, simply because they disagree with that person's viewpoint or actions. I would politely suggest you watch the video again and then look at the words you placed in quotation marks that you attributed to her.
The discourse in America is now glutted with this kind of Fox News style commentary, whereby if the facts don't fit your narrative, don't change the narrative, change the facts.

The 2 Navy Seals, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, ran to help 2 suffering Americans -- Ambassador Christopher Stevens, and Diplomat Sean Smith -- who were trapped under fire in Benghazi.
For their heroic efforts, these most CIVIL of men met their painful deaths by a riotous mob of American hating, murderous Al-Qaeda terrorists.
Two other senior servicemen were fired by President Obama just for offering their help to SAVE those murdered victims. Those fired heroes were: Rear Adm. Charles M. Gaouette, and Army Gen. Carter F. Ham.
Later, President Obama's Secretary of State Hillary Clinton came before America to offer up her haughtily screamed opinion: "WHAT DIFFERENCE DO THESE MURDERS MAKE???"

Hilary takes responsibility, but not blame? I guess it depends what the meaning of "is" is. Must run in the family.
If she was taking responsibility, then she would allow an independent party to administer punishment.
I think she expects to get credit for saying that she is taking responsibility, but those are just meaningless word.
She's combative and there's no contrition. Avert your eyes. Feel some shame. Be humiliated and embarrassed. I don't see any of that.

To reiterate the Joker in the deck may very well be a clash between Iran and Turkey with Syria being the spark. Turkeys interests are at odds with Iranian interests of regional hegemony through regional destabilization and having a Nuclear capabilty.
One thinks that Ms Clintons tireless efforts have been the glue which has kept the Obama foreign policy from sinking beneath the waves of chaos and catstrophy. With Mr Kerry taking over the reins of State, the US can now pursue a truly Progressive foreign policy agenda.
ShalomFreedman 01/28/2013 02:06 AM Report
Michael Gordon informs us that the U.S. pullout from Iraq has left a vacuum which enables Iran to do as it wishes in transporting war material to the Assad regime in Syria. We also learn from him and from David Ignatius that the sanctions have not succeeded in slowing the Iranian nuclear program. We learn too that President Obama wishes to keep out of the mess in Syria and has been disappointed in his expectation of a post- election negotiation with Iran. Meanwhile Ali Khameini the leader of Iran is refusing to even deign to negotiate with the U.S. What does all this suggest? That the Obama policy of avoiding further foreign entanglements is in direct and flagrant contradiction to its policy of preventing Iran from attaining nuclear weapons. At some point the Obama Administration may have to decide on some kind of military action against Iran. Perhaps it would be surgical strikes with no ground forces. As it is I would also note that Dept. Secy. Clinton's excellent representation of the U.S. abroad both Ignatius and Gordon point out that the Obama Administration has had no real diplomatic achievement.
The real test now however is with Iran the main ally of Syria and how the U.S. will prevent it from becoming a nuclear power that threatens its neighbors and global stability.

Benghazi and China:
A 20-day operation to evacuate more than 36,000 Chinese workers on planes, ships and buses in March – the largest evacuation of Chinese nationals.
The biggest Chinese project: $6 Billion for 20,000 housing units.
We should have followed the Chinese lead. When the Chinese make that kind of move with that much on the table someone should wake up and look around at security.

Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) scolded Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and accused her of “national security malpractice” for “misleading” the public in the wake of the deadly assault.
“In the hearing this morning you mentioned that we were clear-eyed about the threats and dangers as they were developed in eastern Libya. Madam Secretary, if you were really clear-eyed, in your words, about the threat to our special mission in Benghazi, then you should have known about Chris Stevens’ memo of 16 August that said our consulate could not be defended from a coordinated attack. The question Americans have is: did he expect an attack? If you were clear-eyed, why did your department reject and request, I believe on 7 June, for 16 additional security agents that would have been funded by D.O.D., not a State expenditure. If you were clear-eyed, shouldn’t you have known that there was no Libyan government? [...] If you were clear-eyed, were you clear-eyed about al Qaeda’s displeasure with who we seem to be supporting during the summer elections? If you were clear-eyed, shouldn’t you have known that al Qaeda roamed freely? There were al Qaeda flags not just at the protest, they were flying all over Benghazi. If you were clear-eyed, were you clear-eyed when the Brits left Benghazi because they had the attack? Why did four Americans die?”
(He has a good argument if factual.)

Hilliary told them that when you read the classified version, you will see that there is still confusion and it is still unclear as to exactly what happened.
Four months later, the best and the brightest in the U.S. intelligence community still don't know exactly what happened. Arrests have not been made.
To say that five days after that they were intentionally misleading when even four months later they still don't know exactly what happened is not a fair claim.

Brought up in the hearings: there are actually more people in the military marching bands than there are diplomats and development professionals representing the U.S. government.

The United States has the host government guard embassies and consulates.
It keeps a very small force of Marine guards, mostly to man the front gate and keep track of classified material and so forth. It's a host government's responsibility.

Hilliary made the point that 1.43 million cables addressed to the Secretary of State are sent every year to the State Department.
Yes, both she and Condi Rice should have found a good cable filter--like a spam filter but one that actually saves lives.
Be it four lives or 2,753, someone needs to call Google.

Poor Hilliary. Five and half hours of grilling. First at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee for half the day, then at the House Foreign Affairs Committee for half the day.
Then all she gets is a soundbite of how "forceful" she is--Sasha Fierce.
The Democrats thank her for her service.
The Republicans want to show that in no way would she make a good President. Rand Paul even said he would fire her if he were President.

When one has been ill and is still a bit tenous as a result, one does become overly defensive as a protective measure when one is being challenged. Thus we can see Hillarys outburst of anger as being her inability to tolerate harsh criticism as a result of her illness.
Only 3 questions matter:
1. Who turned down a beefing up of security in Benghazi?
2. Who didn't send a rescue mission in some shape or form, that could have saved lives?
3. Who sent Susan Rice out to "get all used up" by "spining" a deceptive story as to how it came to be that there are FOUR DEAD AMERICANS IN BENGHAZI? In other words who created the cover up?
REMant 01/24/2013 12:30 PM Report
Hillary yesterday gave every sign of being a woman with a guilty conscience - admirable, perhaps, since so many of her gender seem to have none - but irrelevant if all she means to do is deny any culpability, and she did deny it, no matter how true it may be that we need to do better. And while it may not really matter so much how it happened, it does matter that a lot of people thought Benghazi was benign, and that the administration for so long refused to even acknowledge it could have been a terrorist attack, blaming it instead on generic religious animosity. That suggests it was one of, as is now clear, many public relations cover-ups as the election drew near.
Pulling troops out of Afghanistan is likely similarly politically-motivated.
Syria may well be considered a proxy war. Tho Turkey's Foreign Minister just called the Assad govt war criminals, and expects Security Council action. His country is housing some 230,000 refugees and has spent half-a-billion dollars on them.
