Why does Robert Plant not give the ACTUAL reason why they will not go on tour? Answer the question - or do not respond to the question.

I love the Honeydrippers' "Sea of Love," both the video and the song.

Looks like the young hippy snappers turned into old hippy snappers. Fred Zepplin was the Best, many good songs, and the band was never the same after his death. Even the black guys in prison liked his songs.

Charlie as usual your interviews are not only entertaining but informative, thought provoking and at times educational and for that I thank you.
I just watched on PBS last night your interview with the band members of Led Zepplin. It was really great to hear Robert, Jimmy and John Paul talk retrospectively and especially Robert talking about always moving forward and not just doing the same old thing. Although I liked your comment as to why not take their 2007 re-union concert on the road? I think for many of us who weren't able to see them live when we were teens would be great to see them "Live" now. On the other hand your comment although complimentary to the band members was a bit out of place when you said they are the greatest "band" of all time and that we ageing babyboomers (your age group) all wanted to be like them. I took up the guitar at the age of 12 (acoustic and electric) and most of us serious teen bands wanted to sound like the Beatles (who I feel are the greatest band of all time). I have 4 adult children who are into groups like U2, Radiohead, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Pearl Jam to mention a few of their type of bands they go to their concerts and buy their cds. My sons and daughters disagree with most of my 60's and 70's bands, but they all agree that the Beatles are clearly the greatest band in the entire Rock n Roll era (they all think very independantly from their dad's views).
PBS had a special about the Beatles and them being the biggest influence and contribution to the youth behind the Iron Curtain (Soviet Union) during the 1960's and 70's.
The documentary interviewing many baby boomer Russians including the current Defence Minister today and they all said it was the Beatles that had the greatest influence on bringing down the collapse of communism and the youth learning english through the Beatles music.
The greats like Eric Clapton, Keith Richards, Brian Wilson etc give accolades in calling the Beatles as the greatest band of all time. So although you clearly admire Led Zepplin, your personal comments should have been addressed as how "you" feel they are the greatest and not say their peers in the rock n roll industry and we (baby boomers) all wanted to emulate them, which is the furthest from the "truth".
Led Zepplin played the bluesy type of rock n roll and I would venture to say that true bluesy rock n roll musicians would give the nod as the greatest band to the band "Cream" and not Led Zepplin. When you consider the collaboration of instrumentalists with Eric Clapton (one of the greatest lead guitarist in the world), Jack Bruce arguably one the best bass guitarists ever and Ginger Baker on drums, you have a "super" band and arguably the true grand daddy of heavy metal/alternative/blues rock. Your comment was so out of place to reference Led Zepplin the greatest band because it's your subjective opinion and should be presented as 'your' opinion only. Its like arguing who is the greatest composer of all time Mozart or Beethoven? Both are arguably the greatest but both for different reasons as to what they contributed to music and their genius.
