Two memories:
* Pinter's poignant use of silence.
* The wonderful Royal Court Theatre in Sloan Square where Pinter, Wesker and Osborne all got their starts.

“I know the place.
It is true.
Everything we do
Corrects the space
Between death and me
And you.”
? Harold Pinter
Buddhist, Julian Sands?
More likely the Golden Rule where death is the end and you and I interact with the Golden Rule correcting the time before death.

“The invasion of Iraq was a bandit act, an act of blatant state terrorism, demonstrating absolute contempt for the concept of international law.” ? Harold Pinter
Old Harold has got old Hitch there.

Sands is remarkably twitchy. I suspect this reflects a struggle for full control of expression...ie that it's not "natural" but is disciplined. I found him compelling. His twitching might be one of the ways he commands attention...for example his reference to being a "dominating personality" at a table. Hard for me to understand how that behavior would command Christopher Hitchins, but maybe the writer's quiet dominance would trump the actor's tics and vocalizations. I do want to see more of Sands and I think it was Hitchens' time to go, though I miss him.
