As a person with bipolar disorder I appreciate the awareness to mental illness that this movie is bringing. For me it highlights the importance of seeking medical help as soon as symptoms become evident. Otherwise just as aptly depicted in the movie it often does result in many losses. Home, employment and relationships are often loss or harmed by prolonging diagnosis and proper treatment.

Hate to point out the otherwise obvious compared to the comments already posted. Robert DeNiro should be removed from all interview program "invite" lists regardless of the subject: he talks in circles and if anyone deconstructs his answers you'll find double-talk, leaving the questioner no wiser than before asking the question. "tabs" may give his explanation (below) but what is it DeNiro really reveals? He's a great actor, but a lousy interview.

This world has already lost the chance for Holy Grail. It is true for teletransportation. Good news is that the moment cannot be controlled.

I think it is the reason for the birth of Achilles. Trojan War will happen.

DeNiro throws a fast ball that goes right by Charlie Rose, and a Strike is called. Mr DeNiro laid it all out for you Mr Rose. Mr DeNiro "observes people" and it is "all right there in front" of him. Mr DeNiro is neither articulate nor able to define the process but he does see and understand it. Very simply one observes and aske the question WHY is this happening. What is the motivation of the person/character, what are the factors involved that would lead a person to think and or behave in such a manner. In othere words it is the same as what an actor does to get into the skin of becoming the person or character. One becomes that person to perceive the world as that person does. Now all one has to do is put in the hours to become proficient at doing it.

      Famous Bipolar People:

Charlie, where would the world be without them?

That maniac phase is something else and may have produced a large net benefit for humanity.

Perhaps a cinematic montage of the roller coaster ride of these famous ones?

Perhaps an amusement park of the mind with the bipolar ride?

      I loved this conversation :-)

      Thank you very much :-)

I loved how respectful and well mannered Mr. Russell is i.e. referring to Mr. DeNiro and Mr. Cooper :-)

Style and authentic charm are timeless and priceless and these four gentle men have plenty of both.

This is what America really needs more of. More gentlemen like Mr. DeNiro, Mr. Russell, Mr. Cooper and Mr. Rose.
