This is based on a 1995 novel about a fictional situation set in 1969. In 2012 do we really need this? Apparently not according to IMDb viewers. Perhaps feminists and other wretched of the earth do. I've frequently noticed that there are a class of liberals who can ONLY love those they can look down on, and it seems this film centers on one of those, but, as well, on an Uncle Tom, who can be conceived, I suppose, as someone who can only love those looked up to. The critics I noticed avoided the heavy lifting and just talked about the stars.
